Had a fantastic 10 night stay at the Andreotis and loved Protaras.

Location Of Apartments
The apartments are a 5min walk from the Protaras strip - very easy to get to, just head left and turn right after Diva restaurant. (Which is superb by the way!)

Cleaniness of Hotel
Rooms - Perfect - no issues with it being unclean, obviously it is not a 5 star hotel so it isn;t exactly brand spanking new fixtures and fittings but it is well kept and clean - the maid service was every other day (Sometimes 3 days in a row) which is ideal for em as I use lots of towels and we go to the beach all fo the time so can get very sandy. One tip for the maids - May be a nice touch to clean out the toasters in the self catering apartments as this was blocked up with previous occupants' crubms and when we were doign our toast for breakfast we set off the smoke alarm! _ Not an issue but may be a nice to do so it doesnt happen to other guests.
Pool - Perfectly clean and a nice temperature. The pool was in the sun from 8am to 6pm (when the sunset in May) so it was nice and warm

Food at hotel

We only ate at the hotel once - on the last day for cenvenience before gettign picked up to return to the airport. The Portions are HUGE!!!!! Very good value for money. Gorgeous Greek Food , Moussakka, Kefliko etc. but also gorgeous English food, and italian, pizzas pasta etc... lots of choice.

Entertainment at hotel -

We never styaed in teh apartments on a night so don;t know what the entertainment was like, they seemed to ahve singers on every couple of days and they were showing football games etc.

Layout of Room
We stayed in a studio apartment, this was very spacious twin beds and a sofa bed, coffee table, dining table and chairs, wardrobe, dressing table and stool, kitchenette with hob, toaster and kettle. Lots of crockery and cutlery - . We had ants - but I've very rarely been on a holiday in a warm country in a self catering apartment where food crumbs can accumilate and there not be ants so this isn't anything bad on the hotel;s part. The balcony was very spacious with table and chairs, was lovely to sit out on an early evening it didnt get the sun on late afternnoon as the sunset behind the hotel, but our balcony did get the sun early on the morning right through till about 5.30pm this will obviously vary due to month of stay.

Info about Protaras
We loved Protaras - lots of resturaunts and bars - some pubby types, some cocktail bar types, some really cool, lounge type bars, serving shisha too. If you need any specific info about restaurants and bars please message me

Weather in may - Ideal - very warm - 30's no rain apart from a storm one night around 8pm which alsted 10 mins but that helped to clear the air.

BEACHES in Protaras

Fig tree bay was our closest beach 5-10 min walk- was lovely - again message me if you need any further info

Transport in protaras

Great Buses - lots of stops - ones close to the apartments if you fancy a trip out - not very expensive at all 1-2 eauros to ayia napa.

Wre hired a moped for 2 days - was 40-50 Euro and it was 5 euro to fill it up with fuel - which alsted all the time we had it.

Again if you need any other reccommendations, tips or info, please feel free to message me.

Enjoy your trip to Protaras!!!!

Room Tip: The bungalow apartments at the back of the hotel were more secluded than the ones on the main road.

We have just got back from a 2 week stay at the Andreotis for the third time. We were not disappointed as everything was as good this time as always. The food in the restaurant was excellent value for money and really we'll cooked. All the staff are fantastic and friendly. You can not beat these apartments for a good value for money holiday. The rooms could do with a bit of an update though as I feel they are letting everything else down a little bit but saying this it will not stop me from booking again. LOVE IT

Room Tip: The bungalows are better for the balcony view.

Just got back from 2 weeks at the Andreotis. It was lovely and well above my expectations for the price we paid! All the staff are really lovely and friendly. We had a bungalow room and it was really spacious and clean and we had an amazing view from the balcony. The pool was really refreshing and relaxing although very deep very quickly. The only thing I didn't like about this hotel was the shower as it's basically a tray on the floor with a curtain round and it's so small and the curtain constantly sticks to you but I could live with it for a fortnight :-) would defo go back to the Andreotis!

Returned from a fantastic 2 weeks at the Andreotis and must say loved it! Upon arrival at the hotel (which was late in the evening) we were greeted to Tasos who informed us that the resturant and bar was still open. food at the restaurant was cheap and delicious, ate here a couple of nights during our stay in this resort. rooms generally clean but light dust was found on the bedside tabels, fresh towels were supplied every 2 days. The beds need replaced as the matress is so hard!!! Jayne at the pool bar is lovely and easy to have a laugh with, Sophie who works at the resturant is a wee gem and always has a smile on her face. Aircon is really a nessecitiy which should be supplied free of charge by the hotel but unfortuantly this is not the case - you are charged a €20 deposit for a remote control and €6 per night fot your aircon which you are not able to choose the days that you use this facility but you are charged for the duration of your stay with an upfront payment, in my eyes its a con but its something that you need!! Only incident that we had with this hotel is that we had no battery in our smoke alarm, this was only discovered towards the end of the holiday - surely health and safety of all the hotels guest should be top priority!!!
One thing i recommend is heading across to the english pub (irrestible) ran by mother and daughter Lynne and Stacey -you will recieved a warm welcome and fantatic hospitality.
All in all enjoyed my stay and in the andreotis and would happily return.

Just returned from the Andreotis Apartments in Protaras – Cyprus.

Having travelled to Cyprus for in excess of 30 years I have gradually seen a decline in hotels and service from going for the first time.

Well after my recent visit to the Andreotis my faith in the old fashioned Cypriot way has been restored.

The Andreotis is a family run hotel on the top road as you enter Protaras, it is distinctive with its Greek appearance of white wash and arched balcony shapes.

On entering the hotel itself it is a basic clean hotel, not decked out with chandilers marble walls and a meriad of flowers and plants. The gentleman on Reception – Gregory welcomed us politley and checked us in, we were then shown how to get to our room.

The Reception area is small unlike some of the bigger hotels on the strip and has been clearly kept this way in order to serve its purpose allowing the larger areas be accessed in comfort by guests.

The Reception leads onto the pool area, which throughout my stay was clean and tidy, not overcrowed and tranquil.

We found our room which was in Bungalows 2 block and over looking the pool. The room itself although a little dated was clean, fresh and had all of the ammenties required of a self catering holiday, a fridge, 2 Ring Hob, Sink with Drainer, Cutlery, Pans, Microwave, Kettle and Toaster. The main area of the apartment consisted of a Table which sat 4 a sofa which doubles up to a bed with a fold away bed stored underneath.

Bathroom was what would be expected, although there was no bath, only a shower, I am lead to believe that this isnt the case throughout the Andretois, but it had a tendancy to leak or over fill due to the shower curtain, and the tray was extremley slippy, this is simply rectified by adding a small hand towel to the bottom to stand on and then airing the towel to dry on the balcony.

Bedroom has two single beds but I also heard that some do have double beds, air conditioning, a double wardrobe and a single shelved wardrobe. This is the only room with Air Con and this was one of the only downsides to our stay, as we ended up moving our kids into the room with us so they werent to hot, you also have to have the bedroom door closed in order to get the full benefit of the Air Conditoning Unit. Air Con was priced at 20 Euros deposit for the control and 6 Euros per day for the service, so when working this out over a 2 week stay it was reasonably expensive for the service it gives, it isnt instant cool air, it gradually gets colder so I believe it may be and idea for the hotel to replace these units and install 2 units to the apartments in order to give a better service for the price.

Pool Area: Beautiful L Shaped Pool which has a sloped entry or a set of steps at the deeper end. Very Clean, slightly slippy as you enter however, this is clearly stated with the warning as you enter and there are hand rails to assist you on either side. Generally a beautifully tranquil and friendly area. While I stayed, there were 2 large parties in the hotel, one from Wales and one from Scotland. Now then this did cause some problems, especially for people who had been using the hotel for years. One of the groups were very loud, and kind of took over the pool area, Thomas Cook addressed this to a fashion although it didnt stop the problems from occuring I think to be honest it was not fault of the hotel, this is because the hotel dont get the booking information until apporx 2/3 weeks before your arrival. Thomas Cook may want to be a little wiser when booking large groups of this type into small hotels. However at the end of the day, other pool users dont make your holiday you do, and when it was over rowdy which can only be expected from such a large group, we ventured off to the beach.

We hired a car from ASTRA for the whole 2 weeks which was a great help, and enabled us to visit Paralimini, Ayia Napa and Larnaca. It also assisted with the likes of bringing food and pop etc home to the apartment due to the hotels location against the supermarkets location.

So although all the above make the great points of a fantastic holiday, Good Staff, Good Facilities and Good Location the main jewel in the crown for the hotel is the Pool Bar and Resturant.

Family ran by Tasos and Paula, a Greek Cypriot and an Edinburgh Lass this is what will make your holiday that extra bit special. The service can only be described as outstanding, Tasos and the team all remember your first name and address you like a friend for your whole stay. I have worked in the leisure industires within hotels, bars and resturants and even in my own establishments I have never come across such impecable service.

Food is very well presented, tastey and excellently priced. A Daily special is available for between 6.50 – 7 Euros consisting of a known dish, whilst staying we tried the Lasagne, Chilli, Chicken Kebabs, Burger and Scampi all great portions and tasted fab, they also do a set menu for 11 Euros which is a starter and main course which also meant excellent value for money, my fave of all was Saturday Steak Night which was any Steak either Rib Eye or Sirloin with a sauce of your choice served with either Chips or Potatoes, Veg or Salad, followed by a choice of Chocolate Gateaux or Strawberry Sundae this was priced at a very reasonable 12 Euros, and the portion is of a good size aswell. Aswell as English dishes there are tradtional Cypriot dishes available.

Every day they serve an all day breakfast 5.20 Euros which is 2 Eggs, 2 Bacon, 1 English Sausage, Beans, Tomatoe a with Nescafe or Tea and a Fresh Orange Juice, accompanied by a round of toast with lurpak butter. This definatly sets you up for the day.

On average our family of four were eating and drinking for approx 60 Euros per day. This also included a bottle of wine with the evening meal which I can highly recommend the Demetra Rose priced at 12 Euros a bottle.

I cannot fault this side of the hotel, simply outstanding customer service accompanied by great food and a great atmosphere. They have a live act on a Friday night so your not bombarded with Cartoon Heros and loud music I can also say that these are a good quality act, in particular the Rod Stewart Tribute was fantastic and the second week we had a very energetic Blues Brothers Tribute also very good. Tuesday Nights is Quiz Night and Bingo, with some cracking prizes, one week 130 Euros winning money for a house!

The whole dining experience is what I would expect from old style Cyprus, Tasos is a typical Cypriot – very accomodating and eager for you to enjoy the time you are spending in his establishment, both he and Paula are a credit to the hotel and out of the whole holiday they were definalty the ones that made it feel so personalised, welcoming and relaxed. Massive welldone because in our opinion as a family you made our holiday. Along with the team Eric, Andrew, Sophie, Maria, Sandu, Tanya and Jane and the Kitchen staff the resturant and pool bar are the final jewells in the Andreotis crown that set the hotel aside to the likes of Aqua Sol and Tsokkoss Hotels.

The guests in this hotel are all British, there are no other nationalities booked into the Andreotis.

We have already booked to return as a party of 10, and after our reports the rest of the family cant wait to meet you all.

See you all Soon.

If you are looking to book this hotel and you are after a relaxing stay with impeccable personalised service, this is the hotel for you, if your wanting a more lively holiday I would advise a hotel on the Protaras strip or further down into Pernera.

Room Tip: Ask for a Bungalow - Pool View Use Restaurant over a walk onto the strip.. you won't be disapp...
