Just home from 2 weeks at the Andreotis and on a whole had an okay holiday. The apartments are split in 2 with the main building at the front and the bungalows at the back. We were allocated a room at the front over looking the main road which was not very big.The room itself was a bit dated and cramped, in need of a lick off paint. It had double bed and a camp bed all of which were really uncomfortable and very hard to lie on. The room had only chairs at the table or 2 wicker chairs to sit on which was not the best think they need some sort of couch to sit on. Kitchen had all u need in apartments ie kettle, toaster and fridge etc. Bathroom was small and cramped but for all you used it, it was ok., best thing bout the room was the air con which costs 20 euro returnable deposit and 6 euro a day. Room is cleaned everyother day with towels changed then also, sheets are changed every 3 days.
Pool area was great plenty of room and a massive big pool which gets very deep at one end. Never had a problem with sunbeds as we are early birds and are up most mornings but as the saying goes if you snooze you loose as they do go very quick. There are trees at the far side of the pool which block out the sun from early afternoon so maybe these could be trimmed back.
The bar and restaurant are very good Tasos and his staff are great and are always greeting you with a smile, Tasos himself remembers everybody's name and always goes out of his way to speak to you. The food is good and not very expensive with a wide variety. One suggestion I have would be a kids club as there is really nothing for kids to do but jump in and out off the pool. We as a family like to go somewhere different every year so I don't think I would go back to the andreotis but id be back in Protaras.

We have just returned home, having spent the last 2 weeks of July at the Andreotis. We (2 adults and 2 teenage girls) had a one bedroom apartment that suited our needs. Arriving at the hotel mid evening we were welcomed, checked in quickly, and shown the way to our room. Reception is basic but functional. There is a small reception desk and a number of sofas and chairs. The safe deposit boxes are also in the reception area, there is an additional charge for 10Euros a week to rent a safe box.

First impression of the apartment was that it was typical of mediterranean rooms, tiled floor, Spartan furniture and not much else, but it was clean and functional. There were 2 small single beds pushed together to make a double in the bedroom and a sofa bed with pull out second bed in the living area. These were ok although a little on the small side, the pull out collapsed one night scaring the life out of my daughter, there is also a plasticised mattress protector under the base sheet that was noisy everytime you moved that was a bit annoying. A single pillow was provided for each bed although additional pillows were provided when requested.

The air conditioning was only in the bedroom which meant the living area did not benefit from it. There is a local charge (20Euro deposit + 6Euro per day) for the aircon. A bit much when it was not very effective. The other disadvantage of the room was that the electric was controlled by inserting the room key into a slot in the wall, so when you leave the room the aircon goes off, this means that returning to the room late after a day and evening out, the room is hot and you have to wait a long time for it to cool down, with very little cooling getting to the living area.

Cyprus uses standard UK plugs and there were a couple of sockets around the apartment, we still took a 4 way multiplug to allow us to plug in the multitude of chargers for phones, cameras, ipads etc. Of course these would only charge whilst we were in the room, fortunately we also had a power pack that we could charge and use during the day while we were out or by the pool.

Our room was in the main building overlooking the main road. Traffic noise was definitely noticeable but not unbearably so. If you are sensitive to traffic noise you will want to be in a room away from the road, The worst time was probably between 11pm and 2am when lots of younger people are out. A lot of these drive variations of Quad bikes which have to be the noisiest vehicles around.

The room was cleaned at least every other day and most days in between, fresh towels are provided every other day, although these are not for use at the pool. The bathroom was very small and the shower about as small as it could be. The curtain lying in the bottom of the shower tray easily blocked the outlet which didn't flow very quickly anyway, Hot water was scarce, but warm enough to have a quick shower.
We didn't use the kitchenette, although it was useful to have the small fridge to keep drinks cold.
Noise from adjoining rooms was a little excessive mainly from the apartment above where they seemed to insist on moving all the furniture around late every night.

Overall the apartment was comfortable and spacious enough for the 2 weeks we were there but I wouldn't have wanted to stay much longer.

The best part of the hotel is the bar and pool area, and it is this that makes the hotel. It is run by Tasos and Paula who make you feel very welcome and treat you as if you are part of the family. Tasos will know your first names by the time you pay your first bill. The bar area is spacious with a good number of tables seating between 4 and 8 people.

The menu has a good selection at all times of the day, chips available all day, pancakes all day a good selection of local dishes, Italian and British means that there is something for everyone. Portions are good sized and you will struggle to finish 3 courses. All the dishes are very reasonably priced, certainly cheaper than most of the restaurants on the main strip and in many cases as good or better quality food. There a specials available which change frequently, we had Starter followed by Rib-eye steak for 11Euros, this would be between 16 and 25Euros in any of the other restaurants on the strip. Drinks are also reasonably priced from the bar. All the staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We ate in the bar 3 or 4 evenings during our 2 week stay. There a 2 large screen TV's showing news, sport or occasionally other English language TV. Whilst we were there we saw the Football World Cup Final, 2 F1 Grand Prix, cricket, golf and others. Two pool tables are available at 1Euro a game and there is a small games area with a couple of machines and an x-box (or similar, I didn't pay it much attention).

The pool area was spacious and not too overcrowded. There are probably about 120 sunbeds which is not enough if the hotel is busy. Most mornings I was at the pool before 7:00am, often one of the first so we had no problem getting sunbeds, this is a really nice time fo the day to be by the pool as the sun starts to warm, the air is fresh and the hotel is just starting to stir. By about 8:00am most sunbeds were 'reserved'. There are notices in the rooms asking people not to reserve sunbeds but this was ignored, only on one occasion when somebody reserved 9 sunbeds were the towels removed by the hotel staff. There were instances of people complaining about a lack of sunbeds when half were only occupied by towels.

There is a bar near the pool where you can get drinks and food, this was great and provided a really good service, Order some food and they will bring to you by the pool. There was also a young girl constantly walking the poolside fetching orders and clearing dirty plates and glasses. This helped to keep the whole area clean and tidy and clear of pests. There were very few flies, a few ants, and an occasional bird, the 2 cats that live around the hotel seemed to be the main 'wildlife'.

The pool itself was a nice size, the only downside being that 2/3rds of it is 7feet deep, this means the shallower sloping section can get a little busy with children but the deeper area then is a little quieter. Children with squirty guns were a little annoying at times but it was not a big problem and you need to expect to get splashed occasionally if you are at the pool side.

The pool gets the sun throughout the whole day with different areas being in shade first thing in the morning and last thing in the evening, It was cleaned everyday quite effectively and we didn't have any concerns over the cleanliness, a team of cleaners also went around the pool areas every morning sweeping leaves and any other rubbish away. There are a lot of sun shade umbrellas which cover probably 70% of the sun loungers. There is also a small kiddies pool next to the main pool.

Wifi was available in the bar area and could be picked up in the pool areas nearest to the bar.

The location of the hotel was good, just a few minutes walk from the South end of the main Protaras Strip and another few minutes walk to the beach. There are a number of small supermarkets within a few minutes walk and a Lidl's store about 12minutes walk away. The main road is quite busy and the crossing at the traffic lights seemed to work only occasionally, plus local drivers seem to make up their own rules, so be wary when crossing this road. There are also bus stops and a taxi rank very close by. The location is great, it is far enough away to be peaceful and away from the main bustle of the centre, but within very easy walking distance of all the main activities of Protaras nightlife. Some people staying in larger, far more expensive hotels were complaining of the noise of the strip disturbing them through a good part of the night.

To summarise, if you want personal service, reasonably priced good quality food and a nice pool area this is a great hotel to stay at. Should we ever go back to Protaras, we would certainly seriously consider staying there again.

Room Tip: If road noise bothers you try to get a room in the bungalows. If you are in the main building, mid...

Had a great holiday at these apartments, had 2 weeks the first 2 weeks of July and we will definitely be going back. Good location only a few minutes to the start of the main strip and ten mins bus ride to Ayia Napa. Paula and Tasos were both very friendly and so were all the rest of the staff....rooms cleaned daily, the rooms were nicely decorated and spotless. The food at the restaurant was lovely and not over charged. Pool area was kept clean and tidy.Excellent holiday.

My stay at the Andreotis was incredible, great staff, customer service, food, pool and room. Tasos was very friendly, the air-conditioning worked well and the view from the balcony of room 142. In short, I highly recommend that if staying in Protaras you should stay at the Andreotis.

Room Tip: If you do not like your room, ask for it to be changed...

Had a fantastic 10 night stay at the Andreotis and loved Protaras.

Location Of Apartments
The apartments are a 5min walk from the Protaras strip - very easy to get to, just head left and turn right after Diva restaurant. (Which is superb by the way!)

Cleaniness of Hotel
Rooms - Perfect - no issues with it being unclean, obviously it is not a 5 star hotel so it isn;t exactly brand spanking new fixtures and fittings but it is well kept and clean - the maid service was every other day (Sometimes 3 days in a row) which is ideal for em as I use lots of towels and we go to the beach all fo the time so can get very sandy. One tip for the maids - May be a nice touch to clean out the toasters in the self catering apartments as this was blocked up with previous occupants' crubms and when we were doign our toast for breakfast we set off the smoke alarm! _ Not an issue but may be a nice to do so it doesnt happen to other guests.
Pool - Perfectly clean and a nice temperature. The pool was in the sun from 8am to 6pm (when the sunset in May) so it was nice and warm

Food at hotel

We only ate at the hotel once - on the last day for cenvenience before gettign picked up to return to the airport. The Portions are HUGE!!!!! Very good value for money. Gorgeous Greek Food , Moussakka, Kefliko etc. but also gorgeous English food, and italian, pizzas pasta etc... lots of choice.

Entertainment at hotel -

We never styaed in teh apartments on a night so don;t know what the entertainment was like, they seemed to ahve singers on every couple of days and they were showing football games etc.

Layout of Room
We stayed in a studio apartment, this was very spacious twin beds and a sofa bed, coffee table, dining table and chairs, wardrobe, dressing table and stool, kitchenette with hob, toaster and kettle. Lots of crockery and cutlery - . We had ants - but I've very rarely been on a holiday in a warm country in a self catering apartment where food crumbs can accumilate and there not be ants so this isn't anything bad on the hotel;s part. The balcony was very spacious with table and chairs, was lovely to sit out on an early evening it didnt get the sun on late afternnoon as the sunset behind the hotel, but our balcony did get the sun early on the morning right through till about 5.30pm this will obviously vary due to month of stay.

Info about Protaras
We loved Protaras - lots of resturaunts and bars - some pubby types, some cocktail bar types, some really cool, lounge type bars, serving shisha too. If you need any specific info about restaurants and bars please message me

Weather in may - Ideal - very warm - 30's no rain apart from a storm one night around 8pm which alsted 10 mins but that helped to clear the air.

BEACHES in Protaras

Fig tree bay was our closest beach 5-10 min walk- was lovely - again message me if you need any further info

Transport in protaras

Great Buses - lots of stops - ones close to the apartments if you fancy a trip out - not very expensive at all 1-2 eauros to ayia napa.

Wre hired a moped for 2 days - was 40-50 Euro and it was 5 euro to fill it up with fuel - which alsted all the time we had it.

Again if you need any other reccommendations, tips or info, please feel free to message me.

Enjoy your trip to Protaras!!!!

Room Tip: The bungalow apartments at the back of the hotel were more secluded than the ones on the main road.

We have just got back from a 2 week stay at the Andreotis for the third time. We were not disappointed as everything was as good this time as always. The food in the restaurant was excellent value for money and really we'll cooked. All the staff are fantastic and friendly. You can not beat these apartments for a good value for money holiday. The rooms could do with a bit of an update though as I feel they are letting everything else down a little bit but saying this it will not stop me from booking again. LOVE IT

Room Tip: The bungalows are better for the balcony view.
