We rented Villa Skyros #4 with another family for 6 nights in mid-September. 4 adults and 4 kids (8 mos., 5 yr, 6 yr, 9 yr). It was comfortable but I don't think you would want more than 8 people staying there. The living quarters are small but adequate as you will spend most of your time outdoors!
The outdoor space is lovely! Great pool with great shaded patio area. Also, it's more private than the other houses we saw. A nice privacy hedge around the pool/patio area. There's a lovely outdoor shower that's a bit hidden by the hedge, but an unexpected delight to find. The outdoor charcoal grill was used and much appreciated (Buy your meats at Metro in Parlimni).
Inside...it took us awhile to figure out the AC and in the bedrooms it made weird and sometimes loud noises. The strange, huge bathtub never had enough water pressure to take and enjoy a bath. Which was a bummer as it looked amazing from the pics. So, never used...
The mattresses are hard and the pillows are old. The beds come with sheets and comforters are in the closets. But they could use an update or a comforter cover. They have stains. As do the pillows. Yuck.
All of the adults complained about their backs hurting and not getting a good night's sleep.
The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and silverware but there was no cutting board or sharp knives. Bring your army knife.
There were no extra garbage bags or toilet paper provided so get those on your first trip to the store. Also, no beach towels are provided so either bring them or buy from the local stores.
Hmm...we spent our days going to the local beach (fun snorkeling), exploring the area (Nissi beach, a must), parasailing, and also went to Konnos beach to rent a boat and went to the blue lagoon by ourselves, which maybe was the highlight of the trip. So beautiful and peaceful and amazing snorkeling...until the other tour boats with hundreds of people show up.
We ended the trip with a meze dinner at a restaurant in Parlimni that was recommended by a local. Fantastic food. Not a great location. But it's true what they say, go in with an empty belly and don't go too fast. There were so many delicious dishes.
We wished we could have stayed longer. Life was easy. The weather was great. And the kids were happy.
Restaurants and supermarkets are aplenty and within walking distance.
