Location is spot on for all facilities required in a Greek holiday: you have the lovely beach nearby, all the shops you require and finally a good choice of restaurants, all reasonably priced. Koroni is centrally placed to tour the area. The village itself is very friendly and welcoming and if you visit a shop or restaurant regularly they will remember you. There is one minus factor, namely that if one is less mobile, it should be pointed out there are an awful lot of steps whether you go to the beach of the shops. Apart from that it can't be faulted so much so we shall be booking again for next year.
Lovely place to stay, great views from the upper apartment accompanied by cool breezes whilst relaxing on a bourgainvilla filled terrace in the late afternoon. The apartments have everything you need for cooking a full meal. Bathroom excellent, with bathrobes, lovely fluffy towels plus towels for the beach provided so no need to bring your own. Michael and Maria are the perfect hosts they provide a delicious welcome pack, their own wine is on tap for you to fill your own bottle (honesty box payment). If you don't want to tour the region Koroni is a lovely working village with some fine selection places to eat, no car required as everything needed for a weeks holiday is within walking distance. Don't forget to visit Dodoni for ice cream and coffee - excellent selection flavours. Some steps to negotiate to get into the heart of the village but easy enough if you are reasonably fit and feel the need to burn off all those extra holiday calories.
We stayed at the Icon Painter Villas in July for 6 days. The villa is part of a group of four in a small village two storey house. Our apartment was on the first floor-compact but with all we needed. There was a small terrace outside overlooking the entrance courtyard which was perfect for eating and sitting in at any time of the day. The décor of the apartment was very special and appropriate for a real Greek village house. All was clean and well equipped. The owners were very friendly and went out of their way to meet us and make sure we were comfortable. They were full of information about the area and where to go. Koroni is a lovely village and the icon painter was the best place we stayed in the Peloponnese. We couldn`t recommend it highly enough.
Returned to the apartments for the second
year running and found the welcome, comfort, location and view just as good as remembered. Michael and Maria are charming, helpful hosts without in any way being intrusive and Maria's own preserves olives and olive oil in the welcome pack are first class. We explored more of this delightful working town and enjoyed walks in the surrounding countryside (routes for which Michael helped with). The Sunday market by the school at the end of the harbour provided fresh vegetables and fruit (including a net of sweet oranges which made delicious freshly squeezed juice) and mouthwatering roast pork which was much enjoyed. We enjoyed relaxing long lunches at the nearby Borgris 2 taverna where the family welcomed and looked after us so well. We found the local people friendly and helpful; must give a special mention to our taxi driver Ilias who was so kind and helpful on our return to the airport when my husband was suffering with a very painful back. We will be happy to make a third visit as soon as we are able.

The apartments are sited perfectly close to the top of the hill between Restaurants and shops one way, the beautiful Zaga beach the other. We stayed in one of the upstairs apartments with a great view over the roof tops to the sea. Comfortable bed, small kitchen area ( which we barely used) and a pleasant outside searing area, perfect early morning and early evening. Lovely hosts.
This was our first visit to the Peloponnese area, and having been several times on holiday to many Greek Island, we were very happily surprised by the beauty of this region , the many interesting things to see and do and the warm and kind Greek people.
We arrived at the Iconpainter apartments and stayed in the Boat apartment on the upper floor. The apartment was spottless and very confortable...the bed is a dream to sleep on! The apartment has a lovely view over the sea and Koroni s roofs, and a great terrace outside to seat and relax.
What we liked it is that it retained the character of 'Old Authentic Greece'.
Lovely cosily furnished and at a walkable distance from Koroni s promenade , where you can find many bars and restaurants without having to drive anywhere at night.
walking back uphill there are many steps but they are manageable and a good exercise to keep fit and digest your meal!
I would also like to complement Maria and Michael (the owners of the flat ) for their customers service and attentiveness.
We absolutely loved our holiday(one week was really far too short) and will be back to Koroni and the Iconpainter apartments!
We booked the apartment after staying last year in Kardamyli on the recommendation of some people we met who had stayed there. The apartment is great and by Greek standards extremely well equipped (complete with toaster). Its at a fairly high point in the town, and if you go via the steps from the sea front and stay like us on the top floor flat then there are 123 of them! Not a big deal - we found it worked off the Greek Yogurt and honey. The delightful beach is close and the beach taverna great - good food and very friendly. Middle of May and we had the beach mainly to ourselves. The owners are very helpful and hospitable, and provided samples of their produce, including the best marmalade I have ever tasted. Some great things to see in and around Koroni, and if you use the local car hire company (Kosta), then there's a delightful experience in store.
