“Good home-cooked food”
Reviewed 23 April 2014

Good lunch-time menu and great coffee and cakes. All home-made. Popular with locals (my Mum meets her friends there at least twice a week. Don't sit opposite the door as it can be very draughty! Staff always friendly so I was surprised by one reviewers comment.

“Poor service, but nice food”
Reviewed 9 April 2014 via mobile

Visited here for the first time for a Mother's Day treat with my mum and two brothers march 2014.. My mum ordered beef salad sandwich but it came on white bread after they asked her what bread She would like it on and she said brown she also ordered cream scone with jam they served the scone before her sandwich? My brother ordered a baked potato, everyone's order came but not his so we asked where was they looked puzzled as if tho we didn't order it? So she came back with her note pad and said sorry but there's no order of a baked potato even tho they took everyone's order.. "what would you like she says?" We said it doesn't matter now everyone's eaten and where about to leave now because where done eating... So my brother went without an experience he had something to eat when he got home... The food was nice but poor service no one seemed to know what they were doing...

“Lovely jubbly”
Reviewed 1 April 2014

This tearoom is always busy with the locals and if the locals rate it,then you can bet your life its good.I have been on numerous occassions and each time never have been dissapointed. Its nearly always busy and at peak times you may have to wait to be seated, but when you are seated the waitress will come to clear your table and take your order and are very friendly. The food is always freshly made as you order so you may have a little wait, but rather that than dried up food thats been left on a heat or a limpy salad so the wait i dont mind in the slightest.the locals are all friendly and always say "hello"the menu is quite good and there is a specials board that you can choose from with home made soups ,freshly made salads, freshly made pie.The drinks menu is good also,my cream for my coffee is always served in a jug and not a UHT carton like you get in most places,I also like the fact that the produce is all locally sourced.the staff are excellent and the owners are always present so to overlook that its the best quality.you can even sit outside if the suns out and watch all the locals on the square.top marks for this tearoom long may it reign.
