“A glorious walk.”
Reviewed 17 April 2014

If you're feeling energetic the St Ives walk can start from Bingley by crossing the road just past The Brown Cow and walking up Altar Lane, entering the estate near Druid's Altar. For the less energetic the walk starts from one of the car parks and loops up round the Golf Course. There's a n optional detour to come out of the estate and pay a visit to the rock outcrop known as Druid's Altar from where there is a spectacular view over the Aire Valley from Riddlesden to Bingley. The variety of scenery on the walk is superb, the open pastures, woodland then moorland with a small lake as a finale. We've walked it pushing our children in pushchairs, then hand in hand and now we're walking it with grandchildren and it's lost none of its magic.

“Beauty area for everyone...”
Reviewed 17 April 2014

Yesterday I visited St Ives, a beauty spot that is on the main road to Harden. As you enter through the gates and drive in, there is a large public car park up on the right hand side...This whole venue is free which is a pleasant surprise, this includes the parking....You have a very large sprawling estate up ahead of you, with walks through the woods, picnic area's, a children's play ground with benches, and a free loo ''although not in really good order''...(would benefit from some upgrading)...and the obligatory ''ice cream van''. As you walk on up the road towards the golf course and the café, large pond and more walks you pass the very imposing Nursing Home and estate cottages of varying sizes .
The café is on the road side, but is walled/fenced off from the road...there are quiet a few benches and tables where you are able to sit in the sun and enjoy food and drink....There are again more smaller car parking area's as you head on up to the pond....This whole area is a hidden gem for the dog walkers, children, families out for some adventure and picnicker's alike....
Some of the walking area's are ok for pushchairs and wheel chairs and there is a path that runs parallel with the road so far up. Caution is needed with children as the road is narrow at some points and no pedestrian footpaths. I will definitely visit again and bring a picnic as there is so much more for me to see.....

“Great for a walk and a play”
Reviewed 16 April 2014 via mobile

Live close to St Ives and have visited many times and never tire of going. Great play area for the kids and plenty of places to have a picnic. Nice pond / lake area to feed the ducks and have a stroll. There is a little cafe which prices are reasonable if a little expensive. If you want to kill a few hours or looking for somewhere to take the kids or have a stroll, would highly recommend
