“Very uncomfortable bed”
Reviewed 9 February 2013 via mobile

It is an ok place until you go to bed and it is very uncomfortable, almost unacceptable for the prize you pay. Shower is good though and, yes, you don't have privacy at all as you share the patio with everybody else. Swimingpool is in the carpark and patio and rooms are right next to the road, so noisy. Internet is expensive, you need to pay it separate. There is telecom free hotspot that we could use internet for free from out bedroom but the management of th hotel never told us about it the we asked, they just wanted us to pay extra, very cheecky! I think it is an overpriced place, I wouldn't go back.

We found this resort by going through the NZ Accomodation guide & were please that we chose this one in particular as it is a gem of a place.
The Manger & his Wife are very helpful & friendly. We stayed in the one Bedroom apartment ,which I have just read has windows like a prison in the bedroom (!) The amount of Time that we actually spent in the Accommodation was minimal & yes the windows were small & high but that was not a negative. the Patio area directly off of the lounge was fenced off between apartments in the same way as a balcony would be.
The whole apartment was stylish , very modern & clean . With Tea & fresh coffee ( a plus ) serviced daily.
It is a very small complex & the pool is sited in front of the apartments. the Spa was not working during our stay & unfortunately the restaurant was closed due to bereavement.
But all in all we enjoyed our short stay, it is a great place to use as a base while travelling North which is what we were doing.

Stayed here while visiting friends in Waipu. The room was nice, but fairly non-descript and plain. The place was clean, but the bedroom felt a little bit like a prison cell with only tiny windows. There was a courtyard off our lounge area, but no privacy in the courtyard, as it is almost joined to the neighbours' courtyard. The cleaners entered our room while I was in bed and my partner was in the bathroom. I came out to let them know that my partner was in the bathroom, and she promptly opened the bathroom door!!! Probably wouldn't stay here again, as there are some really nice places to stay around Waipu for around the same price and with sea views.

Nice rooms and well equipped kitchens. Roger the host is friendly and informative and obviously works very hard to keep the standard high. Cleaners missed a few hairs in the bathroom but this can happen anywhere and didn't affect our quality of stay.

We stayed at the Waipu Cove Resort at the end of of holidays, we had been camping and after we packed up from Mahinepua we thought we would stay the night before heading home the nest day. The service was brilliant, and the unit was great, very clean and tidy and the shower was great, spacious and everything we needed for one night. Ate at the restaurant, meal was great highly recommend the Resort and the Beach House Restaurant.

Don't let the outside of the place dissapoint you - it is an old building and looks a bit plain. Once you are inside it is well fitted out, plenty of plates, cutlery, cups, glasses etc. and the decor and furnishings are very nice too. Also, very clean. We had booked a three bedroom for 4 adults and two children, but there had been a problem with the booking. We ended up with two units with a connecting door which worked out even better for us. Management couldn't have been nicer - very relaxed place to stay with a walk to the wonderful Waipu surf beach taking only 1 minute. We will be staying there again.

Room Tip: The single rooms look nice but quite small. Recomend a 2 bedroom +

We stayed here looking for a comfortable place close to Waipu Cove Beach. We were not disappointed. The manager was cheerful and helpful.I was concerned about traffic noise but I was hardly aware of the odd car passing on the road in front of the resort. The unit was bright, attractive and clean. Although small , it opened out onto a private patio giving a feeling of space. The bed was firm but comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed. The shower was spacious with a seat too. There was a pool and spa which I enjoyed. There is a nice restaurant behind the resort and a shop to buy supplies around the corner. The beach is right behind the resort and offers good walking as well as swimming and surfing. We thought it was a bit pricy but worth it for location and quality
