“A true gem in Italy”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 October 2013

We stayed here as part of the Backroads cycling tour and the best part was the spa and hot springs. The room (on the 3rd floor) was large with a lot of floor space and it was nice to have a full bathtub which we did not have at other hotels. The air conditioning was already turned off so the room never cooled down even with the windows open (which let in a large amount of bugs) and that was disappointing. The beds were comfortable and internet worked well. The massage was easy to schedule at the last minute and was actually quite good. The mineral pool was the best and sorely needed after some serious cycling. The grounds were nice so definitely get out and walk around if you stay here. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent!!!

We stayed for one night in September 2013 as part of a self-guided walking tour. Good-sized rooms, large comfy bed with great pillows. The apperativos in the attached café (gratis) were the best we came across in Italy - not just little bowls of chips and peanuts but a complete spread : crostinis, tomato-mozz-basil, olives, onions and capers, prosciutto and melon etc.!!. We much enjoyed our drinks and munchies outside, with a beautiful sunset and starlings criss-crossing the sky. Quiet and peaceful.
And the food at the attached restaurant was also very good, ervice friendly and accomodating even though there were huge tables of guests all being served at the same time. We asked to have our yummy dessert of pannacottas outside and they had no issue with us moving. The wait staff were friendly and prompt.
The next day when we arrived at our next hotel, I realized that I had left my phone charger behind. We contacted the Albergo Le Terme and they arranged to have it brought to Pienza from Bagno Vignoni free of charge. My husband had to practically force the driver to accept a tip. SERVICE OR WHAT !! Much appreciated and kudos to the staff at the Albergo Le Terme.

Our room was small and unremarkable, but after a day of cycling, it was wonderful to come back and relax in the hot water spa. Learning that at one time, the inn had been an entire village on the ancient road to Rome taken by the French made it even more charming. Excellent breakfasts with fresh squeezed fruit juices to select from. Very friendly staff. Overall, a nice stay for a few days.

Went on a National Geographic tour in Tuscany and this was by far our favorite hotel. The spa area was a welcome respite from driving and the room quite nice by Italian standards. The roof top terrace at night was perfect- watched a storm roll in across the valley.

The staff was very nice, very accommodating; the spa is very nice...a bit rundown with what seemed to be too many broken or rusty/unpainted things; the room was fine but rather small; the food was average; the noise between rooms was significant; I guess it's a classic case of you get what you pay for...however, my two massages were excellent.

We stayed here as a part of a Backroads cycling trip that was supposed to be "Casual Inns." This place is not "casual" -- it is a luxurious, beautiful hideaway in a beautiful little Tuscan village. The rooms (and bathrooms) were among the largest we had on a 16 day Italian vacation. The dinner in the restaurante was excellet, especially the Bistecca Fiorentina. The breakfast was fantastic, maybe the best we had in Italy. The thermal baths after a day of riding those challenging Tuscan hills was great. Only tiny complaint is that we could never access WiFi (and others were having trouble too), but really, this place makes you want to log out from the rest of the world anyway (except to post those stunning photos on Facebook).

Room Tip: Ask for bathroom with tub and shower combo.

Wonderful hotel and great restaurant. The surrounding village is beautiful and its an ideal place for relaxation. We didnt spend time outside the village but there should be plenty of opportunities also.
Only thing I missed was a gym/fitness which for me is part of a wellness experience.
