“Surprisingly good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 August 2013

11 of us had lunch here in June 2013. We'd come to revisit the lovely Bagno Vignoni and have lunch in La Terrazza. Unfortunately there was a lorry with a lift immediately outside La Terrazza with men working on the roof so we looked around for an alternative. Eventually we settled on La Parata, unpretentious, shady courtyard, reasonable menu. We were surprised to be served by an English woman who turned out to be the chef's wife and who had lived in Tuscany for many years. The food was all pretty good, not the best I've eaten in Tuscany but very acceptable and good value for money. They also have a decent wine list as you would expect. We enjoyed it.

“Nice family run restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 July 2013

Whenever we are in Bagno Vignoni we have dinner at la Parata. The English owner is very friendly. They have a nice garden and the food is very good. Nothing fancy but plain delicious Italian food. They recently opened a pizzeria with very nice pizze bianci.
Definatly worth trying.

“a great choice”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2013

We stayed 4 nights in Pienza, and on our first night, it was recommended that we take the short drive to Bagno Vignoni. This sweet little hamlet with it's thermal pool dating to Roman times and surrounded by a small square of buildings was the perfect introduction to the Tuscan countryside. There were just a few restaurants to choose from and we chose Ristorante La Parata. Susan who owns it with her husband was wonderful to us. She took the time to talk to us about the wines they offered (she's very knowledgeable and they have an amazing selection from many small vineyards in the area), the menu, the area, etc. She even told us how she ended up in Italy -- she's originally from the UK and her husband is Italian. We enjoyed everything we ordered, but there were 2 stand outs. I had the pecorino cheese appetizer drizzled with truffled honey - the Pienza area is known for their pecorino cheese and it is so good. The other standout -- their ribollita soup. It was full of flavor and absolutely delicious! We ended up eating here 2 nights, but still wish we had been in Tuscany a little longer because they were within days of opening up a pizzeria attached to the restaurant. Guess we'll just have to take a trip back.

“Always excellent”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 September 2012

We have eaten here once or more times a year for the past six years - since we discovered Bagno Vignoni. Giancarlo the Chef can be depended upon to serve consistently excellent dishes and Susan, the Matre d', always selects a great wine, modestly priced, to accompany lunch or dinner. It's a family restaurant in the traditional sense.
