“Our favourite family place.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 October 2011

I always wanted to write a review for Adler. It is an excellent place!Everything is great! We have been coming there since they opened. We come at least once a year, sometimes twice if we are lucky. We lived in Russia, now in Barcelona. Usually I/we like to try new places when we go to the same area. In Toscany and in this area there are certainly plenty to choose from, but since Adler, I dont want to try. Coming there, is like coming home in a way. The stuff is almost the same through these years. We had 2 kids back than. Now, the older one lives in California, but we have a baby (he is 2 y.o. now) and expecting another. So, now we come with our daughter (14 y.o.) and son (2 y.o.). My daughter loves it!She loves the people, she cant wait to go there again (we will go this December for a week).
Food is delicious, personal everywhere is very very attentive. We used kids club (when Jessie was younger), that was great too.

If we live closer, I swear I would be there every month!

Rooms are nice and clean. Spa is perfect with nice thermal pool and spa.
There might be plenty reasons for Adler to be chosen the BEST!

Thanks to everybody there! Keep it this way!
Tatiana and Anthony Hayes

Room Tip: We love rooms in the right wing, on the ground level. They get more sun and kids can come out.

We just returned from the Adler Thermae Spa with our three kids. We had a fantastic time, other than the wi-fi issues I now see reported here. We loved everything else, loved it and we will return.

The services offered a great vacation for all of us. The kids club was there for the kids when they wanted to go. Not many kids utilized it, had more been in the club our kids may have gone more, but they loved just being in the pool non stop. As my 6 year old noted, there are no windows in the kids club. Our kids enjoyed going horseback riding with the group. Lunch is free for kids if they're in the kids club over lunch, but watch the times and sign up before 11:30 for the 12:30 lunch.

The workout facilities are great. The water bikes in the pool made for a fun, outdoor workout. The wine tasting was enjoyable. My husband borrowed a mountain bike, and I ran beside him on a 14km trail from the hotel, with beautiful views. He also brought his road bike and got some super rides.

The pools were fabulous. The water was burning hot coming up from the ground. The "colder" lap pool was great for doing laps, or for going around the lazy river that started up every 20 minutes or so.

We left our car there, and took a transfer to the train station then on to Rome. That was all smooth, but with little to no help on the train from the hotel. We finally went to the train station with no tickets, but easily got them from there. Had I known that it was easy to get the tickets at the train station from the hotel, would have saved a lot of time and frustration with their wireless system.

The documentation we got when we arrived said the rooms only had wired internet. We had 7 devices (mac, ipad, iphone, 3 itouches, and a blackberry) none which use wired internet. Finally found out there is wireless in the rooms. I had to keep following up. Found out after a day or so that teh only way to get wireless signal in our room was to sit by the sliding door. Their wireless requires you to SMS to get a passcode, which can only be used on one device at one time. Their computer in the lobby that they kept saying to use taht if you have wireless issues will not let you send any email / or send anything (like our hotel reservation for last night), as their browser is set up to not allow it. The most frustating thing was after figuring all this out the hard way, the Director had no technology understanding and really didn't want to understand what the issues were. If it's intended to be a quiet spa, don't offer wireless in the pool side, but allow it in the room, but don't limit the times from 9am - 10pm.

It's such a shame that the wireless was such a big frustration for us as otherwise we just loved the vacation. Had expectations been set up front, it would have been helpful. Having the European Blackberry outage also happen while we were there, prevented us from just sticking to the blackberry.

Hotel with natural spa. The sauna/ steambath has nice gimmics but lacks a footbath and cold water bassin. At the relax aerea there is free choice of tea: nice but the water is almost cold. In fact this experience goes for the whole hotel. Internet connections are free but every time you enter a new website you have to re-enter your codes and the Wifi is closed down after 22.00 hours! The restaurant serves bad to fairly good food: the quality changes all the time. The wine tasting consists of four half glasses of local red wine without much added information: so it becomes winedrinking with snacks: nice but a winetasting is something different. Very nice winecellar by the way and the staff know their good and relatively unknown and therefore affordable wines if asked so. The coffee at breakfast is two days in a row almost cold and tastes like it is burnt. There is live music in the bar at evenings. The quality changes between cheap party type artists and fairly well playing lounge type artists. In general: this hotel failes to be consistent.
The hotel has facilities for children and so it attrackts children and their parents. That influences the level of relaxation for the other guests in this self proclaimed 'relax resort'. The rooms are ok, the staff is competent, nice and helpfull, the fitnessroom is very nice and well equiped. All together a nice family hotel in a beautiful surrounding witch does not meet the standard of a high quality resort. It's just a matter of expectations.

Room Tip: For two there is only one type of room. Bigger rooms are designed for more persons.

An absolutely fantastic outdoor Spa experience. Beautifully located. Nice main house (mansion type) and two large wings with the rooms. Service of the staff is excellent, no doubt about it. The rooms are nice. The following points would warrant some improvement: food quality (dinner is included in the half board price). Quality of the dinner is not in conformity with expectations (the wine choice is excellent though!). You would expect excellent Tuscan food, but we felt this was not really the case. Coffee during breakfast was always lukewarm (the breakfast buffet otherwise was perfect). We recgnised some of the comments on lack of sound insulation between rooms, but this did not really bother us. Depends on your neighbours! Finally, the free wifi is badly configured. It works from 09 am to 10 pm (why??) and requires frequent log ins (sometimes several times during one session). Annoying. Overall a very good experience, but with some serious comments.

This was my second stay in Adler Thermae, and I enjoyed it as much as on the first trip. The standards are consistently high, and different season (this time I stayed during the last week of September) offers new opportunities in terms of activities and exploring the neighbourhood. I love the wide variety of menu options, friendly helpful staff, delightful spa treatments, efficiency and simplicity of the whole set-up.
This time the room was closer to the pool and spa (convenient, but with more activity around), and the view was different, but it was equally pleasing and I appreciated the difference.
This is definitely a hotel I will try to return to in future and I can certainly recomment it to spa and nature lovers.

Just returned from a weeks holiday and we would certainly recommend this hotel . All the positives detailed by previous reviewers we would agree with and no real point in repeating them all . Have to say though we did find the extensive wine list ( more like a book actually ) on the expensive side .

A previous reviewer did list certain dislikes and obviously we all are entitled to our own views .
However we found the large suite room to be excellent , no sound problems with neighbours and the bed fine . The unique air conditioning system has attracted adverse comments from some but we had no problems . Perhaps our room which was on the side ( not overlooking the pool ) facing the beautiful Tuscany countryside and only had direct sun in the first part of the morning is more suited than others . The restaurant was on the hot side depending on where you are seated ( you keep the same table throughout your stay ) but the roof was always open during our stay . There again the weather was really hot with daytime temperatures in the 30's all week .

Room Tip: Ask for a room with balcony on the first floor to enjoy the views . For peace and quiet and if you d...

We value tripadvisor highly and have successfully used it to plan previous holidays. Alas, Hotel Adler didn't live up to the glowing reviews. There were many good points: friendly and attentive staff; excellent pools and grounds; superb spa (but expensive: 127 euros for a 50 minute facial); very helpful with special dietary needs in the restaurant; food generally high standard; location and views lovely (and we had great weather!)
But there were bad points: very uncomfortable bed; air-conditioning inadequate; sound-proofing in bedroom poor - so we heard lots of noise from adjacent rooms; atmosphere in restaurant hectic, crowded and hot; decor and comfort of room well below 5 star standard.
Verdict: we won't be returning or recommending this hotel to friends.
