We came by the terrace and sat down because the colours of it were so inviting and sunny on this cloudy day.
We were served quickly and friendly and had two lovely pasta's. One with mussels and clams and the other one was pici with sausage and tomatoes. We appreciated the size of the portions. Not too big, not too small. Just right for a light lunch.
Later in the afternoon we returned for a glass of Montepulciano Nobile. Not cheap, but delicious not in the least because of the perfect temperature of the wine.
Besides all this it is nice to take a look inside the place. It looks hip and trendy. Don't forget to visit the toilets! Decoration here is surprising.
One minor remark: when we came back later in the afternoon, the service (waitress) was less. We had to wait long and had to really draw her attention ourselves. She kept walking past us...
Besides that, a positive review. It is strange to see the great difference in reviews in this restaurant/ bar...

Stopped here for lunch on a hot day because the outdoor garden was beautiful. Unfortunately it is only open for dinner, so we dined outside in the square. The service was very good, not rushed. The asparagus strudle for the antipasti was very tasty and the plate nicely arranged with an endive salad. The first course of ravioli were well filled and the dough was light. We had two 2nd courses. The lamb course was average, a bit bland. My wife had the filleto di manza with porcini mushrooms . . . and it was wonderful, perfectly cooked, and melt in your mouth tender. Since it was such a hot day, we drank white wine . . . nicely chilled and flavorful and recommended by the staff.
The gelato and cantuccini dessert was good as well. Really surprised by some of the reviews we read, so glad we dined without having any preconceived ideas.

Not sure why some of the reviews were less than flattering, we ate here twice on a recent visit and found it to be excellent. The first night we were caught in a thunderstorm so the garden was closed. We ate under the canopy as the lightening and rain came down, watching locals and tourists alike scurrying for cover in the narrow medieval streets of old town. It was a magical evening made even more so when our waiter mentioned we were sitting in front of a church built 1100 years ago! The next night we ate in their beautiful garden. Both the Pici Rustici and Ravioli di Ricotta w/white truffle were excellent, but the Gamberoni Reali w/Venaccia Wine and Rosemary was outstanding! and the best we had in our Italy travels! (incl the Gamberoni we had in Cinque Terre and Venice). All enjoyed with a nice bottle of local chianti. The limoncello at the end of the meal was also a nice added touch. Would highly recommend Dietro le Quinte for both the setting, excellent food and overall good value!

We visited the mediaeval part of Colle val D'Elsa to look up the famous glass specialist la Moleria. Looking for somewhere for a light lunch, we came across Milleluci with outside seating in the Piazza Canonica square. This is a sister operation to the rather grand Dietro Le Quinte restaurant in the gardens below. Two very tasty salads and a beer each brightened up the day, with prompt service and reasonabel prices.
