Silvio and Ferdinando were fabulous. We arrived on a hot June day, after a long drive. It was like a breath of fresh air as we sat down to check in. Imagine my surprise when I learned that we have a mutual friend in Northern Italy. He even had been to my family's village (Falcade).
We spent 4 nights here and loved it. We had several dinners on site and others nearby. The food was wonderful, as was the wine. Of course there are many hotels in Italy with great service and great food. What set this apart? It comes down to location. The best of southern Tuscany is a short drive away. Again, there are many hotels that offer the same. This hotel offered seclusion, yet was walking distance to the essentials. The beautiful village of Bagni Vinoni is a short 5 - 10 minute walk. In addition to the hot springs, you can find a cafe and several restaurants. There are a few shops as well. The ceramics store was our favorite. This all leads me to the best reason to stay at this hotel if you like to walk; it is located on the historical Via Francigena. The day hikes were wonderful.
This is the part of Tuscany in the coffee table picture books, not the tour bus crazy part of Tuscany.
We look forward to returning next year.
