The size of the car park gives an indication of the popularity of this pub. It is in a wonderful rural location overlooking the Pennine Hills. The pub is almost exclusively an eating establishment, with a huge number of tables. The young staff are polite and attentive and service is excellent.
BUT the food is distinctly average. It is a no frills approach, and clearly prepared to be served as quickly and as economically as possible. If you don’t mind functional dinning, then perhaps this is for you, but left me distinctly disappointed
