This is a terrific wee hostel, run by wonderful volunteers and only a short stroll from the Pennine Way. If the weather is fair, there is a charming garden to relax in and in which to hang drying clothes. For supper, the "Top Brink" is but a short walk across an adjacent field.

I stayed here as part of a group in a 6 bed (3 bunk beds) ensuite room whilst attending an event over a weekend in Hebden Bridge. The room was basic but clean with neat pile of bedding provided which you had to put on yourself. There was a self-catering kitchen with 2 'sides' so several people could use it simultaneously, oven, microwave, kettle and toaster etc and lots of different crockery and cutlery, tea and coffee available with an honesty box if you don't bring your own. The dining area had seating for about 25 and there were a couple of picnic tables just outside the kitchen in a little suntrap in the mornings. Hebden Bridge is no more than 10 minutes away in the car (£8 taxi) and there is a bus stop outside the hostel.
We stayed in the ground floor room which was nominally the more accessible room for those with mobility difficulties, you entered from the little car park straight to reception, the kitchen and dining room were on this same level and then there were 4 relatively steep steps down to a lounge with the entrance to our room off that (this was explained at the booking stage). The bottom bunks were very low to the floor which was a surprise! The room was described as en suite, which it was, however the toilet and shower were separate and in very little rooms each just big enough for the shower/toilet and not a lot else! No grab rails but there was a fold down stool just outside the shower tray which is up two small steps from the bedroom floor level.
A lovely setting in an old manor house and if you can ignore the aesthetics of the rather dated look of some of the facilities, this is a really great place to stay, comfy beds, hot showers and a picturesque peacefully setting!
