It is a private castle opened for guided tours in English and French.
It worth visiting it and learn a bit about the French culture and current castle owners - the Forbes family,
Beautiful place to visit!

The tour of the house was interesting and presented in English with only four in the group. The gardens are very well kept and offer views over the countryside. The balloon museum over the shop is very interesting and was well worth a visit. The day was warm and very sunny and the cafe was offering hot and cold drinks and ice cream. The house is in good repair and is being restored by the Forbes family who still use it as a holiday home. Unfortunately, this may mean that the house is closed if they are in residence. Recommend for a good afternoon visit.

Nice looking town, stone buildings, long avenue of trees and impressive château. Good amenities, post office, bars, fantastic restaurant 'Le Manoir de la Drome', 2 bakeries, butcher, supermarket, cash machine, campsite, horse riding. 20 minute run to Bayeux, 30 minutes to the beach.

The tour of the house was interesting and well presented and was given in English and French to our small group. The gardens are well kept and offer lovely views. There is a balloon museum above the shop. On our visit the weather was warm and sunny and we sat out at the cafe for drinks and ice cream. The house is still in use by the Forbes family and so may not be fully open if they or guests are in residence.

I was blessed to be an invited guest at the Chateau. The rooms are magnificent - each with their own character. The staff is fantastic and very enjoyable. The property is very well maintained and comfortable. You feel as if you are living in a different time. I am unsure what the "tour" includes as we had access to the entire Chateau - but even if you are only able to see a small portion of the Chateau it would be worth the visit.

Thank you Jeffrey for your comments,

Note you visited the site in the winter ! It looks even better, and different, in Spring, Summer and Autumn ...
By the way the public visits of the museum and guided tours of the chateau will start again middle of next week ...
