why is this place not packed to the rafters........
we stayed here on a friday night as a last min booking.
we arrived quite late and was shown to our room by a really nice guy that was on the bar. we were surprised by the room as it had its own access in the little court yard. the room was dated but clean and had everything we needed.
friday night is steak night 2 steaks and a bottle of wine for £25 absolute bargain. i had a steak which was cooked perfect and hubby had the chicken which was beautifully cooked.
fully cooked english breakfast was good too. the guys that were serving were very polite and friendly, food was very good, yes i would stay again as the service and food made up for the tired rooms

We recently stayed at the wooly for 2 nights whilst visiting friends in Dewsbury - lovely quiet rural location & places to visit were easily accessible by car. The room was great value for money & very cosy... Almost seemed like a small apartment rather than 'just a room'. As for the food, we only sampled breakfast due to being out all day/night but both mornings it was lovely, fresh & well cooked! The staff & locals were friendly & welcoming so would certainly recommend it for a visit! We will almost certainly be back to stay when next heading 'Up North!'

My partner and I were visiting in the Yorkshire area and choose the Woolpack for an overnight stay. It was a good choice, and we were very pleased. The room was nice, the food excellent and the staff friendly.

We would certainly go back and have no hesitation in recommending it.

We were in the area for a concert and decided to stay a couple of nights to visit york as well.
On arrival we decided to eat and the food was lovely. I had fish & chips and my other half had a burger. They were good portion sizes and tasted delicious. Our room was clean and furnished to a good standard, although not luxurious. We did have an issue with the noise from upstairs however. Every time the person moved the floor creaked which woke me up in the evening when they came in and the next morning when they got up. If you stay here I would ask for an upstairs room! Also the tray in the room was not replenished which meant we could not have a drink when we woke up in the mornings. Breakfast was well cooked and although the plate wasn't overloaded what was there was lovely. The service was a bit hit and miss however as we had to ask for juice glasses to have a drink and then the juice ran out. However the staff were friendly and overall I'd say it was good for the amount we paid.

Room Tip: Rooms upstairs are quieter!

We decided that we would have a short break up in North west Yorkshire as my partner had not visited that part of the country before.
Her choice of accommodation for this trip was the Woolpack Inn as it was central to the area we were visiting as we wanted to visit the likes of Holmfirth, Haworth and surrounding area's.
Upon arrival, we checked in and was shown to our room, which was very nice and clean, so far so good we thought..
The bed was comfortable and surroundings pleasant, we went for breakfast which was nice, but compared to other places we have stayed, the full English Breakfast was not the best we have ever had, but it was ok, although a little scarce on the plate and for what we were paying for our stay, i expected it to be less frugal....
We didn't eat an evening meal there, so we cannot comment on that....Only the fact that we hope that there would be more on your plate that what you get on your on your breakfast plate...
There was cereals, yoghurt, juice and coffee on offer in the morning, when we went down for breakfast but that was it, as other places we have stayed offered croissants and the like as an alternative to cereals, but what was on offer was nice enough and we were gagging for a drink as we weren't able to make our own in our room.
When we returned to our room after our day out, we noticed that the tea, coffee, milk and biscuits had not been replenished, so we could not have a drink when we got in, which was a pain as we wanted a evening drink before bed and the pub was closed by the time we returned, so having a bedtime brew was out of the question.
This problem was still unfortunately with us in the morning too when we woke, as we couldn't have a morning drink and let's face it, we all like a morning cuppa, do we not??

All in all the place was very nice, the staff were very pleasant and the room was clean and tidy too, but alas the service, i.e the room service, does need to be addressed as all other pubs we have visited in the past, have and do replenish your room with refreshments while your out.
To sum it up,
The pub and location... Spot on..
The staff...Very nice..
Cleanliness....Excellent....
The breakfast.....Nice, but more variation and quantity is needed....
The room service....Needs to be addressed, as there is non.....

So if you want somewhere to stay that's pleasant and clean and your not bothered about quantity or drinks in your room then this is a nice friendly place to stay......
