“Biking fun in the sun!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 June 2014

I have just returned from my annual pilgrimage to the Mountain Biking Mecca that is the Sierra Nevada! Another fantastic trip with the boys enjoying 10 days of the most fun you can have whilst pedalling your bike!! As usual David was prompt to pick us up from the airport and played the perfect host during our stay. David's knowledge of the local area ensures that each day is filled with excellent riding and the Sierra Nevada landscape never fails to disappoint both in terms of shear scale and challenging terrain. From breakfast in the sunshine on the patio, to banter filled climbs, to majestic views (the scale of which is immense), lunch in picturesque mountain top villages, to unbelievable descents (Yes. You can go down hill for 20 miles!!!!), through to relaxing evening in the local bars, this really is a trip that I look forward to each year. Roll on 2015!

“Even suits us roadies !”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 June 2014

My first time in Adalucia , and definitely not my last. The location is perfect - within a small town, away from the tourists, amazing deserted roads which are beautifully tarmaced, lovely hill-top villages to stop and have a drink and tapas. Dave is a perfect host, the accommodation is just fine and great to return to after an exerting day on the road. For the cost of the cycling holiday this definitely cannot be bettered.

“Perfect week”

This was my fifth trip back to see Dave in Orgiva. It is a brilliant area for cycling. All roads are fantastic, hardly any traffic pits the uk to shame. Dave always shows a new route, more than happy to come with us and is a brilliant host. Going back again next year.

“Wild Spain - Great Riding - Sunshine - Beer & Tapas”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 June 2014

We have just returned from our ninth May trip with Biking Andalucía - which should tell you that we have never been disappointed with our trips there.

If you are looking for great cycling in an unspoilt country then this will tick all of the boxes. The surrounding mountains gave us a huge choice of riding challenges, many of these hills would tower over Benn Nevis. The trails and tracks are natural - historical tracks and not manufactured to suit MTBs - for us that's a bonus - it's an adventure every day!

The villages are amazing - the bars and tapas culture...superb!

Ideal for groups - we hired the whole place - it even has it's own pool.

“Winter biking in the sun”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 December 2013

Four of us decided a some sun and dusty trails in December would be just the ticket. It was :)

Dave picked us up from the airport for the transfer with bikes, after getting us settled in the house he took us into town to grab some tapas for lunch, followed by a nice little loop to get our eye in on the local trails.

The Accomodation was excellent, fridge stocked with bread and eggs for breakfast plus beer :) all topped up each day, there was also museli.

Secure bike storage, comfy beds, a surprisingly good shower with plenty of hot water, oh and a cat called Paco, he was quickly adopted!

The riding....

We did three days of riding, all were good, it was sunny, it was dry, it was dusty, the scenery was amazing, there was something for everyone. All the rides involved big climbs, some were hike a bike, we probably averaged the best part of 1000mtrs a day climbing. There was great singletrack, some challenging, exposure was a feature with big drops that you wouldn't want to falling down! Some technical stuff but always optional if you didn't fancy it....

When dropping through the high villages the narrow steep streets had a urban downhill feel about them, great..

One thing I would say, some lift assistance would be possible for some of the rides, but it is not offered, so be prepared to spend a chunk of the ride winching yourself up. Also when up high it would be nice to traverse a little more keeping the height so hard earned and extending the riding day. All of the downs were superb, challenging, techy and full of variety. Dave described each section with care, just as well he sent us down first :)

Overall a great short break to sample some excellent riding, Dave is helpful the accomodation was ace, the town is only five minutes walk with a plentiful selection of tapas bars.
