I recently spent a couple of nights at Angelus and can honestly say I enjoyed it as much as anywhere I have ever stayed. The house itself is an eclectic melange of colonial, traditional and modern but achieves a lovely balance and has a very relaxing feel. Large airy bedrooms, very comfortable beds and beautifully appointed bathrooms all add to the pleasure of staying here.

The breakfast is also great in a dining room with panoramic views... scrummy homemade muesli and outstanding media lunas which are easily the best I have had in Argentina!

Josefina who owns the house is a lovely person, very helpful (she mended my shoes) and a font of local knowledge who will ensure you get the best of La Cumbre....

I just wish I had been able to stay for longer!

Room Tip: Seek Josefina's advice on everything...

Josefina has spent a long tome restoring this lovely home and it contains lovely artifacts and beautiful parquetry wooden floors. Although it's only a five minute walk into town, it's totally peaceful with views to die for. You are made to feel like visiting friends and nothing is too much to ask. On chilly nights there's a roaring wood fire with comfy sofas and coffee table books around. So relaxing. The bedrooms are traditional and bathrooms are traditonal but very comfy. When my daughter was taken ill, Josefina kindly let us keep the room all day and looked after her like family. We cannot recommend this Hotel highly enough. If you are in the area, don't miss it. The restaurant just outside the gate is excellent and offers Asian food too which is rare in this area

Angelus is THE place to be in La Cumbre. It is located downtown, walking distance from every nice restaurant town but it feels as if you were far away into the country. It´s silent, has a huge garden and an extraordinary swimming pool. The house is BEAUTIFUL, with raving views and beautiful terraces to just hang out there and watch the landscape while you zip a cocktail that Vanina, the hostess, will prepare for you. Rooms are clean and nicely decorated and the food is home made and delicious.
If you want to relax and stay in a nice place, I think Angelus is a great choice.

If what you want is a beautiful, quiet, small hotel, very nicely decorated, this is it. The overall atmosphere is warm and cozy. We travelled from Buenos Aires, spend a long week end there and feel like at home
