“Wedding Reception”
Reviewed 5 April 2013

We recently hosted our wedding reception at Stower Grange on 16th March, 2013 and the hotel and the staff all contributed to make our day just 'perfect'. We were so well looked after from the very first occasion we visited the hotel to view it as a potential wedding venue to the moment we departed on the following morning having been served a lovely full English breakfast with family and friends. The attention to detail sets this hotel apart from any other we have experienced in the area. There is a very relaxed country-house feel to this hotel yet it is conveniently located just outside of the suburbs of Norwich. The ambience, staff, food and overall experience was exceptional and our guests enjoyed a particularly comfortable and memorable afternoon and evening. The wedding reception itself was perfect, the room was beautifully decorated, exactly as we had asked, the locally sourced food was well cooked and presented and the staff could not have been more attentive. A special mention to the owners Jane and Richard Fallon and to Richard the manager who helped to make our special day one that we shall always cherish.

We attended my mother's 80th birthday but did not stay the night. A relative did stay and said her room was wonderful. The ambience, staff, food and overall experience was exceptional and our party enjoyed a very comfortable and memorable afternoon and evening. We were well looked after, the food was presented with style the staff could not have been more attentive.

We eat at Stower Grange a few times a year as a treat. Last time with our teenage son to enjoy a pre Christmas meal and a catch up. The food is always really good quality, beautifully prepared and presented. Two out of the three of us were vegetarian and the menu listed seven - yes, count them, seven! - vegetarian choices, any of which we could select as either starter or main course. I thought this was an excellent approach. All of us had something different for each course and all had a fantastic meal. The staff at Stower Grange really make your visit - they really understand customer service - and the beautiful surroundings help also. Well worth a visit!

Very many thanks for your review, we are delighted that you found the vegetarian options plentiful. Our daughter is vegetarian and we have come to realise just how important it is to offer a good selection. If when visiting you find that the choices don't suit please don't hesitate to ask for alternatives because the chefs are always happy to see what else there is available to make up at the last minute.

I stayed at Stower Grange and planned to have dinner there with my 21 year old son - it was 14th February and there was a special meal. Fortunately, other guests did not raise eyebrows at the disparity in our ages! The food was very good, with a well chosen wine list. Breakfast was very good, with locally sourced ingredients.
My bedrooom was spacious and comfortable, with a large en-suite shower. I'm sure I would have slept well, but there was a power cut in the area during the night. There was a flight of stairs inside the room, thus the emergency light came on! (Thus my honest rating for sleep quality, which I'm sure would have otherwise been perfect.)
The hotel is a country house fairly close to Norwich Airport, convenient for those flying. A bit of aircraft noise in the morning, but bearable.
I will definitely stay again on a future visit to Norwich.

Room Tip: 2 rooms are in the eaves. They are very nice, but the additional staircase would cause problems for...

We were made most welcome by the hotel staff. Nothing was too much trouble. As the restaurant was closed on the Sunday evening they gave us delicious home made soup. The room was lovely, clean and comfortable. The home Made biscuits a lovely touch

We have stayed at this family run hotel a few times and always look forward to a return visit. The rooms are absolutely superb and as for breakfast it is top class. The staff are helpful and friendly and the owner and his wife are superb hosts, nothing is too much trouble.
The hotel is in a great setting and in an ideal place to expore Norfolk. The evening meals are also very good and there is a good selection of wines at very fair prices.
This is a great place to stay.

Living in Cyprus and visiting friends in Norwich we decided to celebrate New Years Eve at Stower Grange as we had spent previous new years there before we left. It was as good as we remembered thanks to Robert and his welcoming staff, on arrival we were told "we will put the kettle on come and sit by the fire in the lounge" what a welcome.
Our room was comfy clean and warm, the evening menu was a fitting choice for a "celebration" party and delicious. Breakfast the next day was 5* and champagne if you wanted, a big thanks to all at Stower Grange hope to see you on our next visit to Norfolk.

Room Tip: Never had a problem in any of the rooms we have had there.
