“Clean and Welcoming”
Reviewed 3 December 2013

I have stayed in this lodge a few times and it has had a facelift since I was there last. It is still a clean and pleasant place to stay with helpful and chatty staff. It is ideal for the park and ride into Norwich and so much nicer than the city centre alternatives.

I had booked a family room ,as we were 2 friends sharing and we didn't want a double bed .On arrival we got shown to a room with just a double bed .So we went back to reception and the woman told me I should have ticked twin - or that there was "some " option I should have ticked .Previously a family room was a double bed and a sofa bed ??? anyway , there was a roll away bed under the double mattress and I took the small bed .It was comfy enough .
We only had 2 towels between us !! there was one hand towel , and one bath towel .This seems a bit miserly for 2 people for 2 nights ! ! we had a slither of soap - that's a nod towards toiletries!! and no hair dryer .There always used to be one but now you have to ask at reception for one .
There is no way to set an alarm as there is no clock on the tv, and no phone and of course no clock.
We had 2 tea bags and 4 coffees .4 foil milks .We were told at reception you could ask for more which we did.

All in all , you know what you're getting with Travelodge .It's very clean, basic , with hot water ,a bed and a telly and it's very cheap and regardless of it being a bit sparse - it is still a bargain .You can always take toiletries , a travel hair dyer and an alarm clock .Hence they keep it cheap and you get the things that really count .There was a snack machine where water was £1.50 a bottle for 500mls - maybe pack a big bottle of your own .It did feel stripped back to basics - not even ye olde bible in the drawer at Travelodge , cos they don't have drawers either ! Just open closet space and a few open shelves .As long as you aren't fussy , Travelodge is still a good bet for your money - just without the frills !!
We ate at Little Chef once and Burger King .You get 10% off at Little Chef if you show your key , but we looked online and there was a main course and starter or desert for £10 , so we used them instead for a better saving .They were very handy .Big free car park right outside - also a big perk these days .An enjoyable visit with helpful staff .

We arrived at Travelodge Friday afternoon - 15 November. James on reception was very helpful and very kindly carried a case for my Mother to her room. The rooms were very clean and tidy and the radiator worked perfectly.
All in all a very pleasant 2 night stay look forward to staying again We have family in Norwich so very good to know this hotel is there for us

The hotel is clean and comfortable with quite large rooms. Excellent staff who are very helpful. If you require a downstairs room just tell them when you book as there is no lift. A very convenient 'Little Chef' next door. Ample free parking and a petrol station in the same area.

I stay in many many travelodges for work purposes and this is one of the nicest I have been in,The staff on reception today was a couloured gentleman who went out of his way to smile and be as helpful as possible, Nice place to stay and TL Managers see how staff should behave by visiting this hotel.

Not so easy to find as the SatNav takes you to the village of Cringleford, Call the hotel, if you can get a local number! Very clean good size bedroom, nice friendly staff. No on site food but the Little Chef fifty yards away had good quality food at a fair price and really nice staff. The top bosses do not appreciate that when travelling away, after a six hour drive reception staff can be so important, the lady here although busy had a smile, was willing to help and made us welcome. Value for money 100%
