Since 1997 we have had to include a visit to le Corbeleys every season if not just for the excellent Savoyard cuisine but for a superb welcome and jovial banter with Martine, Monique and chef Bruno to name the family team we can remember.
We for years called the restaurant by the nickname of The pella Bar – a local variation of the Savoyard Tartiflette including mushrooms, Lardons, potato and smoked cheese – OK not great for the waistline but well needed after a day on the mountains
My favourite dish is the ‘Assiette de l’Alpage’ – a selection of local meats, salad, potatoes with a generous pot of cheese fondue to dip into while my wife loves to try the varied selection of plat du jour testing our understanding of some great French traditional dishes often with an original twist
A must every year, season, week or why not every day – like many of our guests suggest when they don’t want to leave the Bellville valley.
