We stayed 2 nights in a familyroom with two big beds, perfect for 2 adults and 2 children. The room had a balcony with fantastic view of Adam's peak. Hot water in the shower. The food was very good and tasty. The breakfast served was eggs, pancakes, fresh juice, bread and tea/coffee and for dinner it was a buffee with a lot to choose between. We came back from Adam's peak 11am and the breakfast was waiting for us.
The owners and the staff were very kindly and helpful.

I really liked this place - mainly due to the attitude of the staff and manager. The rooms were ok, the first one we were in smelt a bit damp but the manager promptly moved us without grumble. The food was really excellent - we had a great dinner and one of the best breakfasts we had in Sri Lanka. The restaurant has an amazing view of the mountain which is hard to believe you have just climbed when you are looking at it over breakfast. They didn't take payment for the tea we had the afternoon of arrival even though I offered, which was a nice touch. Looking around this definitely looked like the smartest option in town, I would say one night is enough here though as Dalhousie is very much set up for climbing Adam's Peak and when that is done there are nicer villages to move onto in the hill country.

Wish I had stayed on for an extra day at this place. The views of Adam's Peak from the dining room are simply stunning. The area is surrounded by tea plantations making for beautiful walks and there's a lovely church on the way from Hatton station to the guest house. The food was outstanding - there were salads for those wanting healthy food as well as more substantial choices for those wanting a heartier meal. The stairs leading to the rooms are rather steep which can be exhausting after a couple of hours out walking the hills. Only regret: didn't have enough time to spend on the balcony off my room as it was a beautiful, tranquil setting. Would go back for more of the same!

Room Tip: Maybe take rooms on the higher floors so that you minimise your climb to the dining room or to go ou...

Two big spiders in a room. Wifi not in the room in the room, only in the reception area but pretty poor connection. Good food.
I enter by a mistake a room on other floor which I could still open with a key of an other room!!

We stayed here as probably everyone does, for climbing Adam's Peak. Just one night which is all you need. The place was easy to find and very friendly staff welcomed us. Our room was acceptable but needs some updating. Tired look and the floor needs a good deep clean. The bathroom as well and the warm water is not really warm. The sink drain didn't drain. The food was very good and so was the service

We arranged the room less than 24 hours before travelling to Adam's Peak - and the purpose of our stay was for climbing the mountain.
In our 18 day trip of Sri Lanka, this was one of the most expensive rooms we stayed in but sadly it was far from the best.

PROS
- Dinner and Breakfast were included in our booking, buffet style, and very substantial for fuelling the climb. We were pleased with the food, good flavours and variety. Excellent job.
- One free wifi code per room - vital for telling friends / family you survived the climb ;)
- Location: right at the base of the Hatton trail and meant we could walk from the hotel to the start of the climb.

CONS
- Countless insects and cockroaches in the communal stairs and in our room. We were ok with it, but some travellers might not be.
- There were 2 of us in the room, but only 1 access code for wifi. Not a big issue, just annoying.
- Hot water didn't work, so after the climb we had to have cold showers at 7:30am - believe me, being on a mountain at 4am, a hot shower would've been a blessing.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the upper floors!

We stayed here for two nights with the sole purpose of climbing Adam's Peak and recovering. This is a lovely place, with helpful and courteous staff and it is tremendous value for money. The evening buffet was delicious and breakfast good too. We had a room near the top with a view from our balcony that was stunning. Loved this little hotel - thank you :)
