WHERE DO I BEGIN!!!

From the moment we arrived to our 7 day paradise it was amazing energy from the staff, we were quickly checked into our suits and introduced to our butler Alexis on staff that night; they then called for the Leniel who drove all our carry-on and suitcases to our short distance rooms, Alexis took us on our short night tour so we knew what to do in the morning.

every morning we took a walk up to the main building and on the way to the piano bar for our morning "cafe con lenche" we were greeted by two of the most wonderful men, hotel manager "Ceasar" and before running into him we had the greatest pleasure of meeting "Mario" as well, one of the most amazing men and should be called saint mario. These men along with front desk lady "Diania" were so helpful each day and always looked happy to share helpful tips about our stay!

Liam and Katia made sure we had the most romantic time, getting us lobster and steak dinner and running us baths with beautiful flowers and hearts in the bubbles, we also would show up to our room at night and have little treats left for us in our personal snack bar (eg. chocolates/ fresh fruit/ cheese cake)

I could go on forever but this place is over the top AMAZING and my partner and I cannot wait to get back to the royalton later this year to start planning our wedding and enjoying my birthday!

thank you to everyone for such an amazing experience, i have been on many vacations but nothing like the stay here!

Room Tip: every room has its perks, no stress about what our where you room is going to be then just book here there is never more then 80-100 people

Having been there before and had a great time, I decided to return. It was great to see the same fantastic staff there again.
The grounds and pools are immaculate although, as another reviewer pointed out, these areas need more shade. The upper pool is my favourite: nice and quiet with a bar!
But here's where they are slipping. The food and management.
They got rid of the pizza shack which made the best made-to-order pizzas. If you want a pizza now, you have to get it from the snack bar. Don't.
The evening food in the a la cart restaurant Eggselence is terrible. I have given up ordering here and go to the snack bar or the buffet at Memories.
The room management also needs some fixing. When we were given a room with many problems, we complained and were moved to a great suite. The manager said that he had personally inspected the new room to make sure it was to our standard. This begs the question: Why didn't you inspect the first room? This resort has a very low daily turnover rate, giving more than enough time for a manager to inspect each room. Also, as I am a repeat guest, I expected better treatment than what I received from management upon arrival.
I will return because the high points are fantastic. You want to relax and be spoiled by friendly attentive staff? This is your place. However, I hope the management shapes up and they find a new chef before then. Management has to start paying attention to details. When you lose the details, the rest will fall and you will lose customers.

Room Tip: You will need plenty of bug spray.

This was our second time at this all inclusive. We decided to come back because we were treated so well the first time.
On arrival we received our drinks and checked into our rooms right away, I was a little disappointed that nothing was done for us as returning clients.
I have to say that the food has improved immensely since our last visit and we even met one of the chefs who has even started a garden there. I was pleasantly surprised how much better it was. One of the manager's of the restaurants Coco (I believe) is fabulous, was always making sure things were right. One night we went to dinner and it was lobster night, the only choice for dinner was lobster 3 ways. So my husband was the only one who ordered because of allergies. Dinner came and Coco came right over to see why we were not eat in, we explained and he told us he could get us chicken or fish.

Little things need updating, our room had huge dust bunnies in every corner and obvious signs of dead bugs (now please don't tell me it's Cuba, get over it). I know that they have bugs I just want the dead ones cleaned up.
Also in the room the bars for the towels were falling of the wall and the bar in the shower was also coming off the wall (again these should be fixed before the room is rented or don't rent that room).

The entertainment staff is great, friendly but not overbearing they go around during the day to give hand and feet massages, pure joy.

You are allowed access to the hotel next door, we went for dinner one night.

There is a little market right beside the hotel great for souvenirs.

Cuban Fun in the Sun
We had a great stay at the Royalton. Traveling during the Caribbean rainy season may dampen your vacation; however, the Royalton staff tries to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. From the General Manager that would greet you at breakfast, to the beach staff that are ready to seat you on the prefect beach with umbrellas, lounge chairs and drinks.
Our days started at 7:30am with amazing cappuccinos and café Americano from the pool snack bar that was conveniently located close to our room. Enjoying our coffee while walking along the well cared for gardens towards the breakfast buffet and a la cart location, freshly squeezed juices and live music are waiting for you.
We’re very healthy eaters and found everything that you would want for a good meal.
After our breakfast we casually made our way to the beach to enjoy a walk along perfectly white sand shores. There was no need to rush in the morning and “reserve” chairs with your personal items because there are plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas for this resort with about 200 rooms.
Yoga classes were available every morning beside the beach and featured a certified yoga instructor. The entertainment staff is always available for yoga instruction and other fun, enjoyable activities.
There were many choices for lunch at the resort; however, we’ll admit the pool snack bar BBQ is where we ate all week. Grilled chicken, shrimps and crabs were our lunch staples J
After lunch we enjoyed lounging poolside, with either a lounge chair or cabana bed. Staff members are ready with your drink order and entertainment staff are respectfully providing dance or water aerobic classes for the guests. Either a live band or DJ is playing relaxing music during the afternoon hours.
The resort provides you with a butler that will cater to your every need; booking restaurants, organizing meals that are “off the menu”, to even prepping a relaxing message or bath.
Dinner was always a treat, the Royalton provides a three course a la carte dinner. A lot of attention is given to presentation and service. We tried everything from beef medallions, grilled fish to an amazing rabbit casserole.
Evenings were spent by the lobby bar enjoying an after dinner drink, either a premium spirit or amazing mix from the bartenders. We watched the nightly entertainment every day, they were amazing performers that ranged from a live band singing and playing our favourite 80’s, 90’s and modern music. Flamenco dancers, salsa music bands gave you that Cuban sense of culture.

I really enjoyed my week at the Royalton, beautiful people, beautiful beach. The rooms were huge and comfortable, the food was passable, the service was excellent. If you want a relaxing week, this is the place to go. Take mosquito repellent.
