“JUST GOT BACK FROM 2 WEEKS STAYING AT IOLI VILLAGE”
Reviewed 11 September 2012

Apartment was on 3rd floor, and was like a sauna, heat hit you as opened the front door, we didn't have any air con- which we have since discovered that was because we were traveled with Thomas cook, Other apartments on complex have air con though.
We stayed there last week of August- 1st week of September so temp' even at night was still up in the 70's our apartment was god knows how hot, but sleeping was n ear impossible. we ended up hiring 2 fans from reception which cost 20 euros each for 1 week.
My tip would be- if you're staying longer than one week in a non air con apartment- go and buy a fan-can buy the big floor standing ones for 27 euros down along the main road- just past Mamos bar/ internet cafe.
The apartment was plenty big enough for the 3 of us, and had a table and chairs, fridge with small freezer compartment, 2 ring hob, and they also provide towels too.
The pool area has a little area of the pool for younger children, and the pool itself was plenty big enough. The pool area is all wooden decked, and can get slippery. We saw 2 kids who were running- slip and fall heavily on it. It also gets too hot to walk on bare footed. The pool bar sells drinks, ice creams, and hot snacks which came with fries too, and were ideal for lunch times. The pool bar staff were very friendly.

stayed at loli village for one week in august .The apartments were ok apart from the bathroom which did smell a bit ,and was very hot,the shower was not much use but it did stay on the wall unlike our neighbours. The swimming pool seemed to be full of serbians and bulgarians who seemed to enjoy throwing a ball at each other as hard as they could must be a sport in those countries. The pool side bar was pretty quiet but when its 10 and a half euros for a vodka and orange and a pint of the local lager its not surprising.I found the local food very poor ,had one decent meal all week that was in the old part of the town. The rest of Pefkohori was a bit shabby and tired looking.Ordered a mackeral salad for dinner one day by the beach and got a plate of cheese in oil,and then was told it was fish?.Overall found the resort not very nice and wont be going back.

Room Tip: ask for a room with air con

Stayed at the Ioli Village for one week in August 2012 - the apartments were fine and what you expect when self-catering in Greece. We had a one bedroom apartment which was a good size, however there was NO air-conditioning and the room was almost impossible to sleep in. We did hire a fan from reception for 20 euros for the week which helped but it was still uncomfortable. We also hired a safety deposit box in reception and found this quite expensive at 25 euros for the week! The resort of Pefkohori was not very exciting, targeted and frequented by (majority) Serbians and Bulgarians, hardly any English people at all. I understand Thomas Cook (who we travelled with) will not be doing flights to Halkidiki in 2013 at all! We did not eat in the restaurant at the Ioli Village however we did eat at the pool bar and found this to be okay for lunch times. Food in the village of Pefkohori was quite depressing, lots of restaurants however they all had roughly the same menu and none of them were remotely authentic or Greek! We preferred to get a taxi in the evenings (6 euros each way) to Hanioti which was livelier and had a wider choice of restaurants where we did have a few good meals. All in all, these apartments are fine - however I would not recommend Halkidiki in general, despite the beautiful beaches!

Cosy and cheap apartments, very benevolent staff, but if your windows go out to the pool, there is quite loud music on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays approximately till 12:00 pm. I would like to express special thanks to Irina on reception for her help and responsiveness.

Had a one weeks stay at ioli village, with three other adults. No air con so had a few sleepless nights, I understand that Thomas Cook customers automatically don't get air conditioned rooms so beware of this. A lot of loud music within the hotel from morning until early evening, so if you like having quiet time this probably isn't the hotel for you. Was a long transfer to the hotel too, however was bearable and the rep, Russell, was very nice and friendly. Didn't find the people there to be the friendliest, within the hotel and the area with a few funny looks being given when we went into some of the local gift shops. However, had a lot of fun on excursion with Sun Splash, that was a highlight for us especially jumping off the boat into the sea at Turtle Island. Had a meal at Paul's Place, which was nice but not good for vegetarian food. Beach was nice though very crowded and not a lot of sand, and a LOT of sellers constantly walking up and down, however they don't hassle you much so this is bearable. I did like the location in terms of the beach and shops being a few minutes walk away from the hotel so there was a lot to look at and nice places to go out at night. A huge plus for us was that the hotel let us have a late check out for free until 2pm which was very kind of them and not a lot of places do this. Overall it was a nice, cheap holiday but wont be returning.

Room Tip: Enquire early on when booking about air con! Also rooms further away from the pool are quieter.

We have just came back from a week at Loli Village, had a great holiday but the accommodation overall was a let down, for instance, at the moment it is very very hot without even a breeze in the night and there is no air con for the block which Thomas Cook have so we had many sleepless nights, having to hire 2 fans for 20 euro each for the week which isn't bad but didn't make much difference to be honest, the beds are supposed to be changed and new towels given twice in a week but this was only done once during our stay, which isn't very good considering how hot it was, also no-one could speak hardly any English so it was very difficult to communicate with anyone even the staff at the hotel, you had to point to everything, we have been Corfu around 7 times so are used to everyone there being very welcoming and speaking good English, this wasn't the case here. The staff weren't the friendliest we have come across either, the lady who worked in the restaurant 'Margarita' was lovely but noone else seemed for have any time for us, we were even told to be out the room by 10am the day we had to leave when our flight wasnt until 8pm that night and were unable to keep the room on for any longer, but once we returned to the room saw that the notice said check out at 12pm not 10am. After going different places in Greece such as Corfu I would not recommend this place at all, and definitely not Loli Village. I hope this had helped people thinking of going here.

We have just arrived back from a two week stay at Loli Village, although the accommodation was basic it was spacious and towels/bedding changed regular. Pool and bar area were great and pool bar staff were really friendly. Its in a great location close to beach, village square etc. The village has lots to offer, not many English in the resort or staying at Loli, but that didnt bother us. My only real complaint about this place was the lack of air conditioning we went 21st July - 4th Aug and because we booked with Thomas Cook we couldnt have a room with air-con. It made sleeping totally impossible, we hired fans but this wasnt a geat help. I have been to Greece for the last 18 years and this is the first time we have had no air-con in our rooms. I enjoyed my holiday but I wouldnt stay at Loli village again due to this.

Room Tip: Dont book with Thomas cook
