“Rooms are ok, Food sucks big time”
Reviewed 7 February 2014

Check-in on 1st Feb 2014 during the CNY. We got our request of connecting rooms as we've booked for 2 rooms. The car park space is a bit small. Check-in took less than 10 minutes. The rooms interior are alright except for the toilet which we felt is a bit malfunction as the shower is right next to the toilet. So, once you shower, the toilet seat will be wet. This is a turn-off to me. We are lucky to get mountain view room and since it's CNY, during the night we got to see fireworks too. The swimming pool is located on the 2nd floor, a bit eerie - dark as aside from a groups of 4 children, there is only us, no towel given, no life guard although there is a signboard to inform. The downside greeted us the next day during the buffet breakfast. It was simple the worst breakfast we have ever had in a hotel. The coffee is bland, the creamer does not taste like a creamer, the scramble eggs - simple no words for it, the fried rice - even my kids can do a better one, the sausages taste like some cheap sausages and the food is just bad......The only edible food we had was the white congee with condiments. The coffee house has a lot of waiters and waitress and their service is good. Check-out took us less than 5 minutes. Doubt that we will return.

Room Tip: If you must stay here, please ask for room with mountain view

Located in a quiet residential area. Parking is available unless there are ongoing functions. Pleasant ambiance all round. Given super deluxe room (No. 325) for 3 pax that faced the back of the hotel. Adequate size with basic amenities and direct view of a cemetery. Agreed with MSeelan that design of bathroom is flawed. Breakfast spread (local and continental) was adequate. Very clean. Overall service was OK.

Room Tip: Rooms facing front provide better view

Plesent stay. Clean room. Mountain scenic from the room. Very quite. But the check in took a long time dono why. The bfast need to improve. Cheap deal. The rooms are small but overall nice. The bath are so comfort and specious. Balcony is small but counter the mountain scenic is breatless. The sunrise over the mountain is stunnig.

Altho' Taiping Golf Resort is my first choice for accomodation in Taiping...I decided to try out Hotel Taiping Perdana since it is closer to Taiping town.

Overall it was an okay experience but the hotel needs major improvements to do better. I was made to understand that it is a rather new hotel owned by the Teacher's Co-Op of Larut, Matang & Taiping.

My family & I took 2 standard rooms on a high floor following the room tip given in a previous review. The bedsheets has stains. The carpet looked rather worn out/dirty at some areas. There was no extra chair/couch. The walls were not painted well and I could see the cracks on the wall that has been patched...more layers of paint would be better.

The bathroom whilst it is spacious was not properly thought from a functional & design sense. The shower was right next to the toilet bowl. The whole bathroom & of course toilet bowl got wet when I showered, for me this is not an efficiently functional bathroom.

I would agree with previous reviews about the basement car park. It is very tight and again I would put it down as a design flaw rendering it inefficiently functional.

Breakfast spread had a decent selection and quite good. Staff were a little slow but attentive & helpful.

Hot water not functioning, WiFi not functioning as promised, No side table and chairs, just a bed.
The room is not equipped with refrigerator.
Basement parking is available, but to go upstairs to the lobby, you ave to pass through a smelly garbage bin.

Room Tip: Ask for a suit if you want a comfortable room, but pay more!

Standard room I stayed in was clean and spacious. Hot water and aircond were working fine. Double bed thou was a "springy" and wobbly - but functioned well. TV channels free to air and also a movies channel was available. Indoor pool was OK but don't expect much - more for the young 'uns really. Car drop off at entrance of lobby however could have been better designed - only allows one car at a time. Driving into the hotel also has a peculiar route - quite tight and surrounded by walls. On the whole, the hotel being the newest Taiping is a good place to stay as it is central and very close to the eateries and what not.

Was booked into the Junior Suite in the hotel by my organizer. The hotel is just on the side of Taiping main road and should be easy to be located. Its very near to Taiping town too. There is a complimentary wifi connection in the room though the speed is not that good for video streaming. I don't find the car park to be narrow as in previous comment - probably as I just drove a small compact car. The room decor, facilities and complimentary fruits are great. They also provide cloth iron, complimentary sanitary kit in the room.
Drawbacks - breakfast in the restaurant was not that good in term of choice and taste, though still edible; the light along the corridor in my floor was switched off even at 6am. I usually go out for morning walk during this time. It was pitched black outside my room though there is some dim lighting from the emergency exit sign near the elevator.; would prefer to have some shower screen - the splash make the bathroom wet & slippery.
