The Captain's House has been well restored, with thoughtful interior design which brings out the character of the house and the links with the town's history. Although our room was small, it did not feel claustrophobic, perhaps because of the light coming in through the windows (though the shutters were good too) and the balcony, and the bed was very comfortable. The public areas are very well decorated, with plenty of relevant literature available. The service was thoughtful and unobtrusive; the breakfast varied and of good quality. There's enough to do in the town and surrounding area for a few days, or this is a good place to stop off on a longer journey, as we did.
