Unusually I did not choose this hotel. My husband was allowed to suggest we stayed there, at his peril! Sad to say, it was fantastic! Costas looked after us so well, nothing was too much trouble. Even helping us with our language problem at the laundry. We had a suite, which was well worth the cost. It was overlooking the sea, very well appointed and extremely comfortable. We could find no fault with this lovely accommodation. Breakfast included provided a good variety and freshly cooked eggs. Very convenient for the marinas at Aktio and a welcome retreat whilst setting up our new boat. Glorious place, try it!

Room Tip: The suite was lovely, if you need a bigger space like me! Otherwise the other rooms we saw were jus...

The Captain's House is an exceptional small hotel.A Historical building very carefully renovated near to the heart of Preveza and a few meters from Amvrakikos gulf. The whole atmosphere is wonderful ,the service is professional and yet so friendly and discreet .Exceptional rooms ,amazing interior, very good breakfast with home made products, and effective service always with a smile.TIP:ask staff for recommendations where to eat.
Congratulations to Mr.Kostas (Hotel Manager) and his staff for achieving such a high level of professional Hospitality. A true gem hidden in a somewhat small ordinary city. With a little more attention to details (Cleaning,Breakfast variety, quality of amenities and internet connectivity) it will be more a role model for this type of Hotels.Easily.
Highly Recommended .

We stayed at this hotel twice in two weeks. It is very comfortably deccorated with a great library. The staff were exceedingly friendly and helpful without being over-bearing. Highly recommend this hotel.

A lovely classy establishment; the best hotel in this price range I have stayed in in Greece. Wonderful atmosphere and beautiful decor as well as helpful staff.

Room Tip: We stayed downstairs both times, I have a feeling the upstairs rooms may be less noisy? But not sure...

Having to vacate our villa at 8.30am and not flying back to England until 8.00pm that night, we booked a day room at the Captain's House. We arrived there early in-time for breakfast which was delicious, fresh orange juice to die for, cereal, fruit fresh, bread and eggs cooked to order.
Our room was clean and well presented, the staff were so helpful and friendly especially the manager they couldn't do enough for us. Our only downside was that we were not there for longer. This hotel is small but very homely it was built in 1896 and has been restored beautifully while keeping its by-gone character.

Room Tip: I' sure all the rooms are as good as each other.

The Captain's House has been well restored, with thoughtful interior design which brings out the character of the house and the links with the town's history. Although our room was small, it did not feel claustrophobic, perhaps because of the light coming in through the windows (though the shutters were good too) and the balcony, and the bed was very comfortable. The public areas are very well decorated, with plenty of relevant literature available. The service was thoughtful and unobtrusive; the breakfast varied and of good quality. There's enough to do in the town and surrounding area for a few days, or this is a good place to stop off on a longer journey, as we did.

My husband and I stayed for two nights earlier this month and everything was perfect. The decor is simple, stylish and comfortably elegant. The furnishings and fabrics are gorgeous and everything was spotlessly clean. The staff couldn't do enough for us. Not only did the manager recommend a great place for dinner, he walked us down the street and introduced us to the owner of the restaurant! Before that he popped out of the hotel to procure a botle of wine for us to have in our room while we were freshening up. Our room was small but perfectly adequate, featuring a cute balcony with French doors. Breakfast was served in a lovely, light and airy room and was a delightful start to each day. Our departing flight was not until the afternoon so we requested a late checkout, which was no problem, no charge and they gave us fresh towels so we could have a quick shower before leaving. Wonderful service. We are going back at the end of the month and have booked a larger room at a higher rate. Still a fantastic bargain!
