First; don't book this hotel if your purpose with the stay is a romantic getaway with your partner, or you're after a quiet weekend. This is definitely a family hotel, with children running everywhere, and it's probably a paradise for the children.

On the paper, this hotel looks a bit luxury, however, the rooms are getting a bit 'tired', particularly the bath in our room. The piilows need to be changed. There were a few irritation during our stay. The shower cabinet was a bit broken (difficult to close). All extras costs: i.e. 250 SEK extra for a baby bed. However, the greates irritation moments were all the ques everywhere. Our stay started with a line to check in. Then there was an amazingly long que to get the breakfast. You had to que to use some of the pool facilities. Then we had to que to get our keyes for the room activated on the second day of our stay. And we had to que to get activated the wrestles for the pool entrance the second day as well.

The good thing about the hotel is definitely that it is child friendly (however, it's not child friendly to have top wait for 30 minutes in line for breakfast buffet). But the pool area is great for kids. If you're after a swim, the pool is open between 8-10 in the morning for swimmers only. Nice and quiet. The rooms are also spacy.

Room Tip: Try the pool area between 8-10 in the morning for a quiet swim

We went to Åre for the weekend, and stayed at Holiday Club Inn. The hotel is massive, with bowling, a restaurant, and a poolarea/ sauna.

Positive:
Clean rooms, lots to do. Nice poolarea, great food in the restaurant. Nice location, 5 minute walk to Åre sentrum, and a view over Åre Lake.

Negative:
HUGE hotel, kids all over. Everywhere we went there was always some kid crying. I felt like yelling at them... The restaurant has a very limited menu. The room looked like it hadn`t been painted since the 90`s.

If I ever go back to Åre, I will stay at a hotel which is not so "child friendly". The hotel is not for young couples, but for young families.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for a week in Feb 2011. The hotel is a large modern hotel with plenty of leisure facilities. Check in was very smooth and easy and our room was overlooking the lake. The room was spacious and had a tv/dvd player sofa and free wi - fi. Within the hotle there are plenty of activities including mini golf, ten pin bowling, large indoor and outdoor pools with slide and sauna area. The hotel also has a ski hire shop and the equipment we hired was of fantastic quality and looked nearly new.

The hotel was located in the centre of town within walking distance of a chair lift. If you plan to do ski school this starts at 9am so there is not enough time to get too the meeting point via this chair lift so its a ride on the 8.20am ski bus (its free)!! The ski bus stop is just outside the hotel and runs frequently. Also within the hotel there are plenty of ski lockers to use free of charge.

Evening meal was a set menu with no choice. To be honest I struggled with the food but my husband loved it. It is of a very high standard but a bit fancy so I ended up eating from the childrens menu. There is no desert either ;-(

Overall I would recomend this hotel to everyone and we hope to return next year

Room Tip: The rooms that overlook the lake have a balcony.

The 1st impression of this hotel was amazing. The hotel itself is very modern and full of things to do.
The room was spacious and modern. The room included a dvd player and free Wifi which wasnt expected. Every night I slept very well and was never interupted by noise from other guests which I think is rare in most hotels.
The spa facilities are excellent, the pool and saunas were nice after a days skiing! Although the kids in the spa can be a little annoying, if you time it correctly you can avoid the rush of children.
We were half board with Nielson and we had a set menu which was very nice but I can imagine it not being to everyones taste as it was all Swedish food.
The staff were excellent, they spoke in Swedish, but as soon as you said 'hello' they would speak perfect English.
Location was good for a view with of the lake, but with ski boots it was a bit of a walk to the ski bus stop.

We chose this hotel from Neilson holidays and we werent dissapointed at all. It is like one big lesuire centre with all the facilities in one place. As we were a skiing group, it has great appeal being only a few hundred metres from one of the main Chairlifts. It does tend to get busy at the weekends but still not over the top. Sauna world is a nice place to unwind after a day on the slopes with an array of different saunas and steamrooms. There is also an indoor and outdoor pool too. The staff are all very welcoming and speak excellent English ( especially good as I cant speak much Swedish) The rooms are nice and airy and maintained daily. If I was to have a niggle about it, then the confusing part of the dining would be it. There are no clear intructions in english about just what you do at mealtimes, so we sat there and had to watch the locals before realising you just sort of help your self. I would reccomend this hotel even more so if you have children as they have really good childrens facilities. there is an instore shop and skistore and the bus also stops right outside the door. A must for this trip was the Husky Safari which we all thoroughly enjoyed all beit cold. Just make sure your wrapped up.

Room Tip: Lakeside Rooms are the best Views

This is the first time we have stayed here during summer, and as always we had a good time here. Great rooms, decent restaurants and super swimming pool and Sauna World. The only ´problem´is that it gets really busy at times, meaning long queues for check-in and breakfast. Åre is getting to be a good summer destination as well as a perfect winter destination.

We decided that we needed a bit of luxury in our life, and took our 4-months-old baby to Holiday Club hotel. We had a family room and included entrance to the swimming pool and sauna world, and spent a little more money on the room than what we normally do. And we were not disappointed. The rooms were big, had a balcony towards the sea, had a nice sofa and beautiful furniture, very comfortable bed, and a G*R*E*A*T breakfast buffet. Family friendly, nice interiors in the hall, everywhere people are walking to and fro, half-naked with towels on their way to the pool, or in helmets and ski-wear, the atmosphere is really laid back, but not in a bad way.
After our one-night-stay, I regularly check their website for special offers, I am returning here within not too long. Åre isn't the most spectacular place to be if you aren't into skiing, but this hotel makes the trip worthwhile!
