Spent a couple of nights here on a business/lads weekend away skiing. I stayed in one of the large lodges in the grounds by the lake. Really liked the feel of the place, the hotel is large and modern, with a very nice, cosy restaurant with a real alpine feel. It's own ski shop, cafe, bowling alley and more. The hotel is a short walk from the town centre but quite a stroll from the lifts. If you find yourself in Are I would certainly recommend this place.

Room Tip: Lake side lodges are great

Excellent resort with plenty of options for wintersports. Holiday club excellent for families as it is central to town and transport links. Has pool and sauna complex to chill out, sports bar and reception bar rather characterless. Large general areas and small shop in foyer for basics but indoor link to shopping mall. Food excellent quality and choice. Good service to meeting rooms. Rooms clean and spacious with lounge area will fold out bed with curtain - great for sharing. Views from rooms better on higher floors. Storgae areas for skis, bbots and luggage. Worst part on arriving my room was not available ans sent away - kinder to offer somewhere for luggage and entry to pool. Crockery was found often to be chipped and dirty, a little attention to detail would be good.

Room Tip: Long corridors so advise avaoid rooms near connecting corridors as door slam.

I stayed here with a friend as timeshare guests. The appartment we were given was top shelf. Fully equipped and even included a sauna and two toilets. Great for a boarding/ski holiday. Note however that lift passes and gear hire are expensive for European standards (but this has nothing to do with the Holiday Club).

Whenever I visit Are, I always stay at Holiday Club without fail. Let me share with you why. First and foremost, the reservation process was smooth. I never ever failed to get the type of room which I'd constantly demanded for. Upon arrival, the check-in process was also smooth. Upon entering my room, everything was duly prepared anticipating for my arrival. I always have a rented vehicle without fail and parking was always a breeze. Even my three pairs of skis are safe in my lockers located on the ground floor. The pool and sauna were simply awesome. Now, here comes the "dough". I couldn't find a decent parking spot in one out of fifteen instances. The pool and sauna can be jam-packed in one out of thirty instances. The one powerful plus point to me is that whenevr I need to shop for groceries, ICA was just a few steps away from my room. In fact, ICA and Holiday Club is linked by a bridge which is duly covered. Hence, no matter come rain or snow, I won't get wet. Last but not least, you people must try staying there just to experience what I'd constantly experiencing... By the way, I'm NOT a spokesperson for Holiday Club... :)

Room Tip: Please stay in rooms with either a sauna or a jacuzzi... You'll love it !!!

This hotel has high ambitions, and the setting is nice. Bath area is the highlight of the hotel, but it needs some touching up to get that good feeling to it. Service level is unfortunately not so good. There is a feeling of lack of staff, and that there seems to be no one around when you need them.

Big issue is the transfer to the slopes. This place needs a serious solution to that problem. Pricelevel ok.

Room Tip: High floor and a low number helps.

Stayed at the Holiday Club and could not have been more happier. The apartment (1A3) was exceptional with a sauna, open fire and everything a family could wish for.

Ate at the restaurant was is good value. Took up the offer of Sauna World as an RCI member which is well worth it. Happy days.

At the internet, the hotel offered free access to a waterworld, sauna and billiard. We had booked a room with a seaview/mountainview, but when we arrived we were asked to pay extra for the seaview and we also had to pay for the billiard (quite expensive) and the sauna. The waterpark was advertised as really big with 8 pools, but I could only find three pools + a baby pool, and none of them were suited for swimming - only for playing. We were also little impressed by the breakfast, which did not include real orange juice, only some kind of orange lemonade. One of the nights we had dinner at the hotel restaurant, and it was quite expensive, but not impressive. Furthermore, we waited for about 30 minutes to get served in the sports bar, and waked up several times by night by drunk and loud people. The doors to the rooms were everything but soundproof and we could hear every word that was said in the room entrance. We will not come again.
