This is simply my favorite hotel. Stylish and elegant, yet cozy. A wonderful spa area, and an absolutely splendid lobby where you can lounge for hours. They make great coffee, play tasteful music, and the internet is fast and reliable. The breakfast is splendid as well, with some great specialities like homemade peanut butter and orange jam.

Great for skiing, and even better for off-season retreats or mountain biking, when the prices are lower and the place is more quiet.

We did a summer trip to Åre for easier mountain excursions and some good food. After following all the rides around Copperhill it was fun to come here for a visit. The hotel was really stylish, built in beautiful natural materials and very magnificent but at the same time genuinely Jämtland.

The hotel's location high up in the mountains is both an advantage and a disadvantage. On one hand, it offers amazing views and is close to the mountains and nature but on the other hand, it is far into the village which makes you remain in the hotel.

We had a small but nice room with lovely mountain views and really comfy beds!

The hotel has a very nice spa that is well worth a visit! Now, during the low season, we could enjoy the views from the pools and saunas all alone. Very relaxing!

The restaurant was nice and cozy, the food was good but the staff sometimes felt like inexperienced summer employees. They were absolutely nice, friendly and service minded but that little extra in the service was lacking and sometimes they felt understaffed and almost a little disoriented.

The breakfast buffet was excellent and a good thing was that you could pay a little extra to pack up some lunch and fill up your coffee thermos!

Low-key and gentle service that overall worked well, the hotel staff was really friendly and helpful!

Would love to come back for another visit!

I stayed here for a few nights whilst attending a work conference.

The location is gorgeous and practical for skiiers and boarders (ski in and out). A little far up the hill from Are village but getting taxis wasn't too problematic.

The hotel is very 'design' focused - in public areas and rooms. Rooms are comfortable and I slept well (good sound proofing plus comfortable beds and pillows).

The SPA was great and the swedish massage although pretty expensive was good. The pool was very nice as was the outdoor pool.

We ate a lot at the hotel and all the food was generally of an extremely high standard and tasty.

The only thing that was a tiny bit disappointing was the staff, and I mean a minority of them thankfully). On the whole most of the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. However, there were a few over our stay that just seemed to be quite disinterested in being there and that was a little irritating.

I would happily return but would really like to see more consistent service at the hotel.

We have stayed at this beautiful hotel before and were very happy. But be aware - it is now managed by a low class hotel chain. When paying 1800 usd per night for our seven person family with breakfast and dinner I expect great food and impeccable service this hotel offers neither. There is little food to choose from and he signature dish is hamburger. The fish stew was worse than in a school cafeteria. The rooms now have recieved the added benefit of increased environmental focus which means a constant focus on not washing bed linen or towels, no soap in the bathroom, no tootbrush glasses. Also the location is horrible for being outside when it is windy. Which it was 6 out of 7 days for us.

For 800 usd yes for 1800 usd hardly.

Spent a week in Copperhill with my family. Thanks to TA reviews I was rather well aware what to expect - thus our expectations were mostly met.

What is good with Copperhill is of course the very nice open design lounge and public areas, each of the floors had its own sitting area with lots of chairs - so if you don't bother going down stairs to lounge you could bring your beer / snacks from room and enjoy in quieter upper floor still not been stuck with your own room. There was also enough space in lounge to find a chair all the time.

All the meals we had in the hotel were excellent:
-Breakfast had very good selection and quality of food, one just needs to get used to some of the guests, especially kids coming dressed nothing else but underwear (they feel so like home...?), as well as the fact that its not perfectly peaceful due to number of families with small children.

-Dinners in Niesti very good - one just needs to book a table in advance (as in many other better restaurants in Åre). Menu selection is limited and pricey, especially in lounge. Level of service in Niesti was very nice.

Spa and saunas very nice, if you get up early for a morning swim, you good have it on your own. Family time in the afternoon is a bit too limited in time which makes it very busy (one more family hour may help not forcing all families be there at the same time). But still very nice for a relax every day after ski. Pools are small and not for a real swim of laps, but sauna's very good and with a view.

Rooms may not be as luxury as you wood expect for the price, but still very good. We had a Coppper Suite with 2 bed rooms, small living room and kitchenette - mostly functional, but do not plan cooking real meals there (utensils are too limited for cooking!).

Room cleaning could be improved!

As to summarize - we were very satisfied, it is a good ski hotel for families. Without children/wanting some peace - you need to be prepared for lots of families, and do some planning/scheduling of your time to avoid busy spa and breakfast times.

One odd thing was that the Coppermine / Ski bistro downstairs was not open at all although we were there just one week before the Swedish school holidays (i.e. in season). Seems like it was serving group orders only?
