“Pleasant weekend stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 November 2013

We spent a weekend at Hovs Hallar, a two night, full board package from Friday evening until Sunday morning.

The location of the hotel is great, just by the beautiful rocky stretch of coast and natural preservation area with the same name as the hotel. The scenery is magnificient and the area offers a variety of trails with views with great views of the landscape and sea.

We were given one of the rooms in the building on the rear, separated from the main building by 10 meters. No excesses, but clean, quiet and with good sleep comfort.

Food was good all over, breakfast, lunch and three dinner course. Staff was friendly and attentive. The only downside is that the acoustics in the restaurant is poorly insulated so the sound level tends to be high as the restaurant fills up. The restaurant had a reasonable selection of wines on the list.

Hovs Hallar is well off the beaten path, and well worth the trip. Spacious, comfortable rooms are adjacent to great nature trails by the sea. Dine at a gourmet restaurant with beautiful sea views. The staff will do everything in their power to make you comfortable and happy. The local drives are all scenic with great access to the picturesque town of Torekov. If you find yourself driving around Sweden, make a path for Hovs Hallar.

Room Tip: "Restaurant Week" provides extra value at the restaurant.

Dont miss out this small hotel by the sea when you are in Båstad. The nature is stunning as the food and staff. The hotel rooms are in a new building close to the reception and restaurant. So dont get scared when walking from the main building, cause there is still some old pretty shaggy parts of the building under refreshment.

A great break, with nice food and very nice and service minded staff

Room Tip: Book a room with a Seaview

We stayed in one of the new rooms facing the rear but with a very nice sunny balkony. Room spacious and modern minimalistic. However the fridge was irritating noisy and we did not manage to turn it off (someone else might not even notice this....)

Buffet lunch average but really good value for money. It even included free coffee and sweets.

We enjoyed a drink on the nice restaurent terasse with amazing views. Dinner was really nice and the service good . However, you have only one menu choice for dinner, take it or Leave it. We liked it but if you are a vegetarian - tough luck.

Nice breakfast. On saturday the staff were busy preparing for two weddings. I am glad we were not staying for another night as this would not have been much fun for the other guests. Hence, might be worth checking if you are planning to stay over the weekend.

Room Tip: Enquire to the location and views from the room

If you're going to this part of Sweden then this hotel would make a great weekend retreat or base out of which to explore the trails of the area. The first-price rooms are a bit sketchy, feel like Butlins holiday chalets, thin walls but jazzed up with nice big beds and flatscreen TVs.

Bathrooms were slightly less nice, but we were paying about 80€ a night including breakfast - which we considered reasonable - so we weren't bothered. Breakfast was a buffet feast, great quality, served by accommodating and friendly waitresses.

I'd go back.

This hotel is only recommended for hikers, spending a night before heading out on the fantastic trekking path "Skåneleden".

We spent one night in the newest part of the hotel, with a sea-view room. Very clean and minimalistic room. The room was spotless but simple.

The restaurant part of the hotel was terrible. Dirty, bad service and tasteless food.

The overall impression is that the hotel is too pricy compared to what is offered (1500 SEK for a double room, around 375 for 3 meals).
