This is a beautiful hotel. The view is incredible (if you're on the correct side) and the rooms facing TdP are larger than those on the back. The natural wood and stone on the inside really complement the view. Rooms are very clean an comfortable. High marks to to the restaurant as well. There were not many people in the hotel at the time so only a buffet was available at dinner. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. If you are vegetarian (as I am) there is the option of only having the non-meat dishes and being charged a lower price - such a nice change from most buffets. There were several non-meat protein-rich dishes as well as the usual salads and vegetables. Given the chance, I would definitely stay here again.

I stayed here for three nights and was pleasantly surprised with both the overall quality of the hotel and the food. Others have said the food was awful, but I and my fellow travellers thought it was pretty good, and not expensive at all when you consider how far supplies have to be brought. Staff were very helpful and friendly, and most spoke excellent English. The views - when you can see them - are stunning! We were lucky and had one clear day, but then someone stole the view and it disappeared completely. The excursions were great. The only criticism I would make is that the hotel really does need a drying room for wet biking gear and boots. A couple of my companions did the trek to the base of the towers, returning utterly soaked to the skin, and found there were no facilities for drying, other than the radiator in their room. But other than that, top hotel!

First and foremost the view of TdP is outstanding, both from the common areas and even more from the rooms upstairs.
The staff, especially those at the Outdoor activities desk (especially Martin) was extremely helpful even if you are not buying one of their doors. They had excellent trail advice, a surprisingly accurate weather forecast, and Martin even helped me with some car trouble. The check-in/out was similarly flawless.
The room itself was large with an excellent, quiet heating system. Most important, a bathtub where you could soak your aching hiking muscles.
Because of complaints on TA about the dining room, the first night we walked to Quincho Rogel for dinner--it's the place with a green roof a 5 minute walk toward the park. The food was ok, but it costs as much as the Rio Serrano if you order a la carte. The food at Rio Serrano was much better, the buffet ranging from good to excellent. Only if you are trying to escape the noise of a large dinning room should you bother with Quincho Rogel--there was only one other couple there when we ate.
We enjoyed RS from check-in, where we received welcoming pisco sours to check-out. We were a little surprised because we had had some difficulty getting an e-mail confirmation before we arrived.
