We travel a lot and I have to say the Explora in Patagonia is at the top of our list. Wonderful hotel with stunning views, great food and wine and fabulous adventures. Yes, it is a tad pricey but well worth every penny. We hiked and hiked and hiked some more with great guides. I can't say enough good things about this place.

Room Tip: Ask for the lake side.

Dear Traveler,

Thank you very much for your enthusiastic feedback. It sounds as if you enjoyed your explora experience from beginning to end and, being avid travelers, I was delighted to read that explora Patagonia is top of your list.

At explora Patagonia, we offer 48 different full and half-day explorations, including hikes and horseback riding, enabling our guests to fully connect with the beauty and remoteness of their surroundings. As you saw for yourself, we do not believe in passive contemplation.
I was happy to read that you found the views from our lodge “stunning”. Due to our location within Torres del Paine National Park, our lodge has breathtaking views of the Paine Massif and two of the three granite towers. I would also like to thank you for highlighting our team of explora guides and I will be sure to pass your kind comments on to them.

I would like to take this opportunity to make you aware of the benefits of our Former explora traveler benefit, a recognition program with benefits including rate discounts and room upgrades for repeat guests. More information can be found on our website.

We look forward to welcoming you back to explora soon.

Best,
Richard Sharman

An amazing experience…the view out of our window alone was worth the price. Everything is included: food, drink, daily activities. You could pay extra for the spa or the gift shop, but who had the time? We were busy from morning until night with meals, explorations, lectures, socializing. The staff is friendly and helpful, the lectures were extremely interesting and the guides were excellent. Our travel agent had told them in advance that I was gluten intolerant. The night we arrived the room had been stocked with a variety of gluten free snacks. The next morning at breakfast I was told that they had gluten free bread for me and would I like it toasted? The following night several of us ordered the duck confit (which was excellent, by the way), and when mine came it had been prepared without the topping. My friends thought mine was even better than theirs. We had previously stayed at the Explora property on Easter Island, and this is just as fine, which is saying a great deal.

We did not stay here but decided to drive here from EcoCamp to have a drink/ snack as we were taking a rest from hiking that day. We had emailed before to ask if this would be possible and they replied positively. We got there round 3pm and asked if we could have a glass of wine. The man at reception said no. When we queried as to why and explained that we had driven all the way here, he responded that it was "quiet season and there was a big group coming". We were not quite sure what this meant logically. We could understand if it was in the middle of a mealtime but it clearly wasn't. We said we would sit quietly in a corner but he would not budge. This kind of hospitality or lack thereof, is completely shocking, unreasonable and disheartening.

All inclusive hotel. No complaints. The highlights were: extraordinary food and service; great guides for the hikes, all of them with good english. The location and views from the hotel also help a lot!

Room Tip: Get a room with a view to the Paine Massif!

Not many hotel can claim to have a extraordinary view right outside the window of your room. We had a great stay in this resort hotel which is all inclusive (room, food, tour, etc), made life much easier during the stay. The view, activities and staff friendliness is very exception. I would highly recommend this place for whom visiting Patagonia area.

Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review on explora Patagonia. I am delighted to read that you enjoyed the explora experience and have recommended explora Patagonia to other travelers visiting the same region.

At explora we actively seek disconnection from everyday life and routine. For this to happen, it is necessary to leave bills and price lists behind, which is why we offer all-inclusive stays.
The rooms in explora Patagonia are designed in a way to capture the beautiful views of Torres del Paine National Park, and I am delighted that you found them “extraordinary”. Also, thank you for your kind comments regarding our staff; I will be sure to pass them on.
