Hosteria Pehoe
Reviewed 27 April 2014

Torres del Paine is obviously famous for trekking, excursions and magical views. The Hosteria Pehoe offers something more, the opportunity to walk around and relax even if you are not an expert trekker. This because it is on a little island on a beautiful lake where you can walk around without going very high. Really good location to visit the south of park.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with lake view.

dreamy!
the hotel and its surroundings are stunning :) ..an eskape from the reality.
the view from our room was breathtaking. the room itself, although modest, fits perfectly with the whole atmosphere :) it was very warm, coazy and perfectly clean. at first we were surprised that there is no TV in the room, or that WiFi doesn't work perfectly in the rooms (whuh!), but then...why would you watch TV or spend time surfing the internet for the short time you spend in one of the most amazing places in the world??
the staff was amazing, very helpful and always smiling. we got there with only our hotel reservations and they helped us organize all the tours we wanted to take, for a good price (don't miss the horseback riding at Rio Serrano!!!!!).
if you travel with your family, and are not able to do much trakking and sleeping in refugees, I deffinitely suggest Pehoe!

We stayed for 3 nights in a superior room at Hosteria Pehoe. The room was clean and comfortable, but the last renovation has been long time ago...
The food was alright, of course, it is not cheap, but you are in the middle of nowhere.
The staff was very friendly and helped us with planning our hiking tour. They also contacted our travel agency for the pick up.
The hotel is situated on an island and you have to walk over a footbridge to reach it. The landscape around is beautiful! You can do several day hikings: Mirador Condor and Mirador Cuemos+Salto Grande directly from the hotel or you use the catamaran to get to Guarderia Paine Grande, where different hiking trails start. The staff can drive you to the jetty (you have to pay) or to other starting points for hiking. Unfortunaly we couldn`t use the catamaran due to very bad weather conditions and so we stayed at the hotel.

We spent two nights here in Feb/March 2014 either side of doing the W trek. For us, as very keen photographers it was worth it for the location but for the price you pay you'd expect more - unless you'd read the trip advisor reports before going, that it, which we had. We are still pleased we stayed (most likely because we went in with our eyes open) but agree with everyone else that it is very expensive for the level of service and quality of the food. One of our evening meals was pretty poor, the other was actually quite nice but that might have been because we were comparing it to the utterly horrible food at the refugios on the W trek! Nice staff who are very helpful but level of service is still not that great. They queried the price I had been quoted on check out despite seeing my copy of their head office's email! We thought their pisco sours were fab but we had to teach them how to make a gin and tonic!

Room Tip: I think it is room 36 - beautiful views. Request it when you book. We got the room by requesting a...

An unrivaled location with incredible luncheon views! The food was good, not great, as was the service. The reason to be here is to enjoy the view and relax a bit. Other reviews indicate spending the night is another matter...

Room Tip: Sit near a window.

It didn't get off to a good start with me waiting in Pudeto for an hour for them to come and get me after I arranged a pickup in the morning. When I called in the evening they said they would send someone but no one came and had to call again. Once I was there the service was good, friendly staff helped me plan my next day's activity. Food is good, probably the best you'll get in the park, and the location is great, but don't expect clear view views of the mountains, even in summer! Rooms were adequate.

I read the terrible reviews but the combination of cycle-touring (limited distance range) and late booking (poor planning) forced us to stay here. The location is epic- with stunning views from the hotel restaurant itself. Thereafter it is the worst place to spend your money. I have paid $25 in the USA for motels in much petter condition Than this. The staff are generally trying hard but the young manager is on their case the whole time, patronising them and asking (in front of the guests) why they have not charged guests sooner, or more. The food is also overpriced and average in quality. The rooms are clean and there was hot water. Take it out of the stunning location and this motel would crash and burn within days,

Room Tip: Don't go at all or go in low season- This $215 motel is shockingly overpriced.
