“Mix feelings about this place”

This hotel his right next to the Grey Glacier hiking trail and right in front of the lake. The food we had for supper and breakfast was very good and service at restaurant was perfect. View from the bar and the room was terrific. The staff was very nice
But, our room was very dirty, hairs and dust everywhere, carpet was filty plus some dead flies and bees all over the room, also It took 40 minutes to check in and got our room only at 3:30 pm, check out took about 20 min. Poor value for the money they are charging. Overall, it's ok for one night if you don't want to travel back after grey glacier trekking, but wouldn't stay there longer then this

For being in the middle of nowhere this was a decent hotel. The first room we were given had a hot water issue so we were moved to another room. The second room had three twin beds and had space for our two large suitcases. The rooms were rustic but comfortable. The bathrooms served their purpose but were a bit short on space. Because we with a tour group we had help with our luggage and we felt the service was fairly responsive to our needs. The hotel reception and dining areas were very nice. The bar area had some sitting areas and tables to gather in or simply read a book. Beautiful views of the mountains and lake. We ate dinner two nights at the main restaurant and the food was very good both nights. The buffet breakfast was a little bit above average. Again, the views from the dining area was spectacular. The service was very good. This wasn't an upscale hotel but it was very comparable to lodges you might find in American National Parks.

We were in the hotel in September, the cold season. The heating was not working well. No hot water. Staff did not dealt with it until the morning. In the morning they moved us to another room. Excellent room with lake view. No extra cost. We suffered one night, the second night we were almost in heaven. Great room with stunning views. the hotel is at the far end of the Torres del paine. Last nineteen kilometers are really bad, the car's tire was completely destroyed. I think it is better to take Hotel in the center of torres del paine . The hotel is the Departure point for the cruise to Glacier Grey, an amazing experience and very recommended

Room Tip: the more expensiv rooms with lake view r the best

Had an amazing stay there on Nov 2012, special thanks to the young guide Santiago and to the travel agent Karen.
Tips:
- It is mandatory to stay in one of the superior rooms (800 or 900). Otherwise your experience won´t be complete. I am a budget traveler and I never stay in a room better than the standard one, but this time it was worth every penny.
- This hotel and Hosteria Las Torres are the only options inside the park that are affordable. And that makes all the difference, trust me.
- Don´t ask about the weather in patagonia... I went in november and I experienced all seasons in only 4 days

Room Tip: Superior room is MANDATORY

stayed 2 nights booked by my travel agency. sitting in the hotel lounge you would nevr get sick of looking at the views of the lake and the mountains, just so beautiful. breakfast was very good and lots of varieties. we did few hikings to nearby mountains but not central enough. we want to do more without using the expensive hotel excursions but everything too far away. good place to get away from everything.

We stayed here after the W trek before kayaking down Serano as a treat to ourselves to break up a lot of hiking.
The location and the views are stunning. The evening walk to the glaciers and Lago Grey is mindblowing. There are also short treks one can do to the top of the cliffs, where condors nest.
Rooms are positioned so there is a degree of privacy and one feels like staying in your own cabin. Again, the views are just insane.
Service - fine, non offensive, but not trying overly hard either. Given the price fo the rooms they could be a little more accomodating.
Decor - a bit of confused shiny western decor (saw a lot of that in Patagonia though), could benefit from being more rustic.
Dinner - EXPENSIVE. I really didn't plan on paying $200 for dinner fro 2 on top of the $500 room, but I guess the location dictates. Just like the staff the dinner was neither a highlight, nor a disappointment.
Visitors - a lot of elderly Europeans.

I would not recommend staying for more than one night or just stick with doing the lago Grey boat and soak up the view at the bar while you wait for your transfer somewhere more reasonably priced and authentic. With that said if you want to treat your achy limbs after the trek, this is a nice location.

You can book Lago Gray navegacion yourself via the website, saving $20/pp on the tour company booking it for you.

To the hotel: Get an iron to loan to your guests. Not everything should be an opportunity to charge your guests.

Room Tip: Second floor has betetr views unobstructed by trees.

Hotel location (once you eventually get there) is fantastic right on the water edge. Rooms in the new section are modern and bright with wonderful views over the lake and the floating icebergs that come off the gray glacier. Service is so terrible however that it makes the stay unpleasant. Not a single porter to help with bags from (or to) the parking lot that is a fairly long distance from the reception. Reception staff are arrogant and dismissive. Restaurant service is slow and food options limited. Could be SOOO much better with just a few tweaks.
