I liked the look of this hotel and we wernt disappointed , our room had air con lovely crisp white sheets ,white fluffy towels and was quite comfortable ,the pool and and patio area was great really positioned to make the most of the sun , I saw the pool cleaned every day and the patio , similar with the hotel all swept and mopped every day , the food was plain but enough choice for us , the shower in the room was small and slow but it all worked fine for us , the bar an at the poll bar was great a lovely cheery guy , Maria on reception was very helpfull too , all of the staff were friendly and hard working ,we really enjoyed our stay there ,thank you :)

I'm a great believer in a holiday is what you make it. Stayed for a week and it was lovely. Loved the pool and the beach is very close by too. Definitely worth a dip on the sea! Plenty of sun beds around the pool, very hot weather and plenty to eat and drink. The food wasn't amazing but by no means bad. There was enough to choose from, always meat, fish ad pasta selections and plenty of salad and fruit. What more could you want? It does get a bit 'boring' dare I say, purely because you get fed up of slapping food on your plate, so it's nice to have the odd meal out. There are certainly plenty of people piling their plates up and going back for more so it can't be that bad!

The staff are lovely too. They work very hard and are very friendly!

It hasn't got entertainment but I wasn't too fussed by that. Spent most nights walking down the street and window shopping. Definitely somewhere to go if your just after a quiet break, pretty location and value for money. A holiday is definitely what you make it and I've had a lovely time.

My husband took me to this hotel as a suprise for my birthday, when we arrive at 2.30 in the morning we were taken to a self catering apartment which dated back to the 50S, we complained the next morning and were given a different room in the hotel which was not a lot better. We paid for all inclusive for a 4 star hotel but it was more like a 2/3 star instead. The food was not bad but you had to fight the flies off. There was no entertainment at all, everyone was playing cards all night and every night. The pool was salt water and in front of the hotel near where the cars were parked. On my second day there i looked up the hotel on line and looked at the profesional photos and yes it did look nice and the picture they showed of the bedroom was nice but i dont know where that bedroom was cause it deffinatley was not in the hotel we were staying at. The poor girl in the bar was on her own and had to make cocktails up and make tea and coffee and collect and was glasses because there were not enough so there was always a queue at the bar so in the end i ended up collecting glasses for her to help out, you had to pay for icecream so it was cheaper to buy from the supermarket a couple of doors away. There were not many English visitors mostly Russion/ Polish/ French. We were glad to come home and will not be going back EVER

Room Tip: MY tip is not to go .

Me and my family stayed for 2 weeks and really enjoyed it. The food was really nice and the meat was tender. Must give credit to Sula who was the restaurant manager. She kept everything in hand and made sure everything was okay.
At the bar area of the hotel they only had one person serving and she also had to collect the glasses too while we were all queing.
If you want a quiet hotel then this is the place as there is no entertainment but the beach is only a 5 minute walk and Heraklion town is only a short bus ride away.

This is a very honest review. I've been on many vacations in my lifetime but have never had to complain.

To start with, the hotel's food was appalling, no variety, and no taste. There was always a shortage of plates and glasses so had to wait atleast 15mins to start lunch/dinner. We actually dined out a few times because the food was so bad. All drinks inc soft drinks and alcoholic were nasty and undrinkable and the glasses were VERY DIRTY. The alcohol was probably anti-freeze it was that bad.

The wi-fi (only in the lobby) is the worst I've come across, probably even worse than old school dial up. It only ever seems to work at some specific times in the day and when I complained to the manager he said give it 5 mins every single time. Which leads me on to my next point that the hotel staff (except the main hostess in the restaurant) all have attitude problems and are very rude.

The hotel caters for Russians and Germans as they can speak the language better than English and ALL movie/TV channels are in Russian and German (except for CNN).

The swimming pool is filled with bitter salt water so is very unpleasant to swim in and stings the eyes. The pool is very child unfriendly and no pools for toddlers. The rooms for 4 ppl are tiny and the bathroom is a disgrace. The actual room was pretty clean though so thats the only positive I have.

Last but not least, there is no entertainment whatsoever, not even music by the pool or bars. This is by far the worst hotel I've been to which is rated 4 stars. Being generous I would give it 2 stars but it needs to work harder to even earn that. If you're looking to stay in Amoudara (which I dont recommend), stay in the hotel across the road called Agapi Beach or Creta Beach hotel, much better!

This is meant to be a 4* hotel and we paid good money for it so I don't understand why the standard is so poor. I've been to 4* and 3* hotels in Tunisia, Morocco, and Spain and have never had a problem or complaint.

The hotel itself is lovely; not far from the beach and an enormous pool. It is let down though by poor food, no entertainment, lack of staff serving drinks, the 'all inclusive' drinks being cheap, pre-made and served in small plastic cups. There is also the issue of the staff having their children there during the day - constantly screaming around the pool and in the hotel at the computers there. It becomes annoying extremely quickly. While we were there it was two girls and a boy - completely ruined the quiet atmosphere of the pool.

It is a nice hotel with adequate food - absolutely nothing more than this.
