“Not a 4* hotel”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 August 2010

Don't want to sound like we are just moaning, perhaps we were spoiled at easter when we stayed in a much superior corfu hotel. However, we arrived at 11.30pm we were tired and hungry and were given some dried up cheese and ham sandwiches and pointed in the direction of our room. We got there to find that a) there were two single beds when we had specifically booked a double b) there was no fridge c) the tv didn't work 4) we had one towel to share. The next day when we talked to the reception staff we were told there are no double rooms at all, just twins, so perhaps that was the fault of our booking agent. They brought us a little fridge, and eventually fixed our tv. Towels were a problem throughout as the maid often just left us one to share (or perhaps it was that we were the last room in the block and she kept running out?) Whatever, the room was very basic and the beds not the most comfortable, but it was clean and the bathroom was quite spacious. The main building of the hotel was very smart. The restaurant was lovely with a terrace where you can eat outside. The food was quite limited in choice, with some strange combinations, but we usually found something. The staff in the restaurant were excellent, always polite and friendly. George in particular was lovely, very friendly and ready to help. The all inclusive drinks choice is also limited, lots of drinks have to be paid for. The entertainment ??? we had a car so we went out most evenings because the entertainment is very basic and is just the animation team doing various acts. There were not many English people staying when we were there, the hotel seems to be more popular with the germans. The pool area is really nice and we always managed to get a sunbed, some people were still putting their towels down before breakfast, but we often went down at lunchtime and still managed to get a sunbed. The beach is directly in front of the hotel which was good. A short walk along the beach there are nudist beaches if that is your sort of thing. The location is quite isolated unless you have a car. We regularly drove into Roda on an evening where there are some lovely restaurants and bars. Kassiopi is about 10 minutes away in the car and Sidari about 15 minutes in the other direction, both worth a visit.

We booked this hotel after reading the reviews however there is no kids club, food was awful, and we had to eat out quite a few times, as the children would have starved.

The mosquito's are out in force at night, and so it was hard to let the children play outside so resorted to staying by the bar inside, whereby the management would come out and tell the children to be quiet (sorry thought we were on holiday), I'm a reasonable sort of person, but the management's attitude towards children was not impressive at all and I'm not the sort of mother who lets my kids behave like little terrors. Oh and the kids room downstairs had games in, but none worked, and a television propped up against the wall which was removed after the children had watched a film on there the previous night. The staff were helpful, but drinks including soft drinks were watered down and the snacks by the pool were a small slice of madeira cake. The drinks by the pool were served in the smallest plastic cups I've ever seen, and only wine, ouzo and beer were included in the alcoholic drinks although I think it should have been re-phrased to non alcoholic. We spent more than expected, after having to travel to the nearest town for meals etc considering this was all inclusive, with kids club, etc. Animation were friendly and offered pool games for adults and older children, but if you have small children don't expect much for them. Reception staff friendly and some of the other staff, but management not. The pool was the best bit, and it was also near to the beach. Definiately wouldn't recommend - not value for money and not delivered what was promised. We've been on all inclusive before, and this is a poor example. The Jacuzzi bath didn't work either.......... This hotel could be sooo good, if the management could improve the standards and deliver good quality food, drink and facilities for the children, its a real shame.

We had a fantastic time at this hotel, the staff are so friendly, they make you feel like one of the family, not just a paying guest. The weather was great and the hotel it's self was top notch, we had no problem getting a sunbed and relaxing round the pool.
The manager of the hotel George is a great guy, he always asked how you were and he would stop and have a normal chat and laugh with you. Then you had Nikola and Ana, what fantastic people and friends they are, we had a brill time with them, You have Thomas, what a top chef he is and a real funny guy, never drinks while he is driving lol. George is a brill head waiter, he looks after you so well in the resturant. Then you have Theo, he is a great barman, after 1 day he knew what we drank and we did'nt have to ask when we sat at the bar, not saying we liked are drink lol there are many more really friendly, good staff we could mention but would take forever to name them. If you make the effort to chat with them you will see what we mean. You get invited out with them on there staff night out, even Claudio and Kosta are DJ's at a night club, which you get invited too, good night out but also try Yamas bar next door, great cocktails and good music to. The Hotel itself is a fantastic place to relax and enjoy a really lovely, friendly atmospher. Food is of good quality, the pool/pool area is kept clean and there is plenty of sunbeds and you are not on top of eachother. Would recommend this place. we will be going back.

When we first arrived at the hotel, we were a little nervous as other guests said things like 'welcome to the hell hole' and were recounting stories of awful food & drainage issues.... however, we had an amazing time!
The food was outstanding- we each gained half a stone in a week! Lots of choice, always hot (except the salad of course which was lovely- great big bowls of feta cheese!) and the waiting staff couldn't be more helpful.
The rooms were clean and basic, there was a bit of an ant problem and out air con didn't work (well we didn't realise that all it needed was new batteries in the remote until the last night- our own stupid fault!).
The hotel grounds and communal areas are beautiful and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel is perfectly situated- right on the beach, a few shops and bars nearby and others a short walk away.
There were a few little problems- not enough working sunbeds, limited drinks on all inclusive (brandy, ouzo, beer, wine, soft drinks), no entertainment and nothing for kids to do. But to be fair, the current owners have only been there a few weeks and it only opened on the 1st July 2010 after the previous owners went bankrupt.
A great tip- NSK travel (just to the left when you go out of the pool bar entrance) do a bargain boat trip- only 15 euros pp for an all day trip around the eastern coast where we stopped several times for swimming, had a snack & drink included and stopped at a fabulous little taverna in a stunning village for lunch (not included!), transfers by coach to the harbour included. A real bargain and a fabulous day out!

I need three things from a hotel I chose to stay in - to be close to a beach, to have air-conditioning in a room and a properly functioning bathroom/shower. This hotel has all that and much more - helpful staff and very good food. There was a mixture of people staying there - Germans,Austrians, some Eastern Europeans and Brits. Entertainment was provided and my teenage son had no problem finding friends, so no one was bored. It is a bit of a walk to Acharavi, but only a few minutes by taxi and they are cheap. I highly recommend trips around Corfu, Paleocastritza Monastery, Achilleon Palace and Corfu town. Take a sailing trip tp Paxos and Anti Paxos- I never saw sea water THIS BLUE! All in all it was a fantastic holiday and I recommend this hotel to anyone!

Recently returned from this lovely hotel had a fab time. Rather PUZZLED by recent negative comments obviously we must have been at different hotels lol

Anyway here is an HONEST uptodate review of this great hotel!

POSITIVES:

GREAT LOCATION - right on the beach with a mountain backdrop view! (Beautiful)

ACCOMODATION - CLEAN Spacious stayed in an maisonette large balcony nice bathroom beds downstairs also "Loft Style upstairs bedroom LOVELY!

POOL LARGE - Cleaned daily plenty of sunbeds no problem getting a bed which is unusual especially at this time of year!

FOOD & DRINK - Food tasty plentiful lots of choice beware if wanting Burger ,Pizza ect this is NOT for you! if you want to try a range of traditional greek style cooking then you will love it (I am FUSSYand I really ENJOYED the food)

STAFF - Very Friendly especially the Reception Staff Restaurant Staff very pleasant SOME a little quiet but NO WAY rude just very hardworking!

NEGATIVES (SORRY just a few but don't let this put you off)

DRINKS "MANY PEOPLE" had a issue with the drinks policey because certain drinks like Vodka & Cocktails ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE STANDARD All Inclusive Package! Personally I am not too bothered by this as I will happily sink a few Greek Beers no problem but this may bother some!

But truthfully if you want a fab RELAXING holiday in a lovely location! then this is for you!
Would Highly Recommend GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

P.S Thoroughly recommend you visit Corfu Town Fantastic!

We were transferred to this hotel from it's sister hotel, the Acharavi Natura.
We stayed all inclusive.
The hotel is well laid out with plenty of space and activities for the kids during the day. The beach is on the doorstep and great fun.
Food was superb with a good variety and the Head Chef would be out during lunch & dinner asking guests if everything was ok which was a nice touch and recommending his specials. All the staff were very friendly and attentive.
Not sure where everybody went at night as the bar was fairly quiet!!
The hotel is fairly isolated from Acharavi but is not a problem.
The apartments were very nice, just watch out for the mosquitos.

On the whole we would definitely stay there again as we had a great time.
