“Bad? Good? I cannot decide... but definitely not 4 stars”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 July 2014

The hotel is located in a beautiful, impressive park. The pool is great, has plenty of sunbeds, the pool bar is good. The apartments are big and spacious, clean and nice.
However, it is 1 KM AWAY FROM THE BEACH! There is no Wi-Fi in the rooms. The Wi-FI in the reception and pool areas did not work, so there were days in which we were unable to connect. The rooms do not have minibar, which is strange for a 4 stars hotel. The rooms do not have insects nets, so the mosquitoes tortured us. The TV in the room was an ancient and very small CRT, from a technical museum maybe. The cosmetics provided (twice in 8 days!) were Made in China,.. The way up to your room is very hard on the hot days, as you have to climb a hill.
You could find something to eat at breakfast, but the coffee was undrinkable. You could not order fried eggs or a different kind of coffee.
So, impressions are very mixed. I will definitely not return to this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room as near the main building unless you are very fit

We visited May 30th to June 10th and were dropped off down on the main road at 1am with absolutely no idea where we were going we had to search for the hotel. When we arrived there was a note on the doors of reception saying 'gone to training back at 1am' so we thought great we're going to be waiting ages now, but luckily we were only standing there a few minutes. The man on reception was okay could have been more helpful e.g. By telling us what time and where breakfast would be. Our room was basic but clean, we didn't need anything more than we got. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Pool area was quite nice but pool was freezing and quite deep. Breakfast was okay but not much for the English taste, I believe it was more German orientated. The only thing that we would have changed about our holiday that there was a group of around 30 German teenagers on a school trip one lot staying above us rather loud late at night and around the pool and also dropped something glass off their balcony on to our next doors balcony and didn't bother to clear it up. Don't think it's the right sort of place for that group. Try Magaluf next time. As for acharavi itself, not a lot of nightlife so don't come if that's what your looking for. Some lovely restaurants didn't once have a bad meal. Try the waterpark just down the road it's walking distance and reasonably priced, something like 20 euros for entry and all inclusive lunch and drinks all day (bear in mind this is only on certain days) if you are wanting to get out of acharavi for the day, I'd recommend going to Sidari. All in all a good stay

Returned 22nd June having spent one week at Century Resort (just the two of us). This is a lovely hotel (best we've stayed at in Greece) with lots of open space and well maintained grounds. Loved the pool area with plenty of sun- beds and space to move them to a quiet shaded spot. All the staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly.

Our apartment was huge and spotless, the bed very comfortable. The accommodation is spread out throughout the grounds and some blocks are uphill, however if you are reasonably fit this shouldn't be a problem. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice and everything fresh and tasty.

The town is about a five minute walk away with a good selection of tavernas and bars, we didn't have one bad meal and particularly enjoyed the Greek tapas at Alegria - Roda end of the main road (only opened 3 months ago), very tasty and varied - a 'must try' if you're looking for something different.

We tended to use the beach in Roda a small pretty village (2 x sunbeds and umbrella 7 euros). We took the bus from the main road (1 euro 60 cents) and would walk back to Acharavi at the end of the day along the beach ( approx 30 mins with plenty of bars en route). As a guide a meal for 2 with starters , main course and wine about 30 euros . Great value !

All in all this was a great holiday and I would recommend the Century Resort - it is a very special place!

We stayed here for 2 weeks as our first family summer holiday. 2 adults and a 10 month old.
The hotel was easy to find, just up the hill off the main stretch.
The complex is laid out with 2 storey pretty blocks stretching up the hill above the reception / dining building and the gardens, playground (swings, seesaw, slide, basketball ring and volleyball) and 2 decent sized pools (one adult and one shallower for children) with pool bar
We had a ground floor, 1 bed apartment (with dining area / kitchenette with 2 ring hob and fridge with ice box) and a terrace & garden with a sea view and sunsets to die for! Could see why many residents chose to while away the evenings from their terraces and balconies.
All nicely presented throughout. Shower room could have done with some updating but all was clean, safe and in good working order.
We were Bed & Breakfast and the spread each morning was tasty and plentiful. We also ate from the pool bar menu and the quality was excellent (good tasty, good value portions).
The nightlife in the hotel seemed deliberately low key and quiet, with the pool bar catering for those staying in the hotel. Even during the World Cup, it was welcoming and certainly not raucous.
The hotel benefits from very helpful, kind, friendly staff. Whether the gardener, cleaners or waitresses, we were always treated well and with a warm smile and folk going out of their way to help with any issue or just to make your holiday better.
We sampled a fair few of the local restaurants being B&B and we were lucky to have a decent meal every time. The Pumphouse, a short stroll down from the complex, was welcoming and served lovely tasting food, same for Odyssey across the road and Skondros on the beach.
The beach can be reached by carrying on straight down to the sea and takes 10-15 mins. Shingle beach with a gentle sloping shoreline and a gentle, safe ambience.
Plenty of local supermarkets along the stretch, plus a cash & carry and larger supermarkets at each end of the resort. Couple of lovely bakeries too.
Didn't see too much of the local nightlife on the main stretch beyond the tavernas with travelling with a 10 month old but seemed to be a few cocktail bars that would liven up later for a later crowd but not in the way earlier on.
So all in all, Century Resort played a huge part in giving our first family holiday a friendly welcome and base to go exploring from and for that I'm very grateful.

Went here for a long weekend with the girls (all high maintenance and aged 24-28 so honest review)- great value for money! Little bit of a walk up to the apartment but walked off all the lovely Food from the restaurants we ate out at and cocktails we consumed! Breakfast was lovely, basic easy food. Pool bar does really nice lunches with gorgeous Greek food - pleasantly surprised. Not luxurious but very much does the job. Location a short walk into town, no need to get a Taxi at all. Staff were very friendly and helpful. You do need to take beach towels though as none provided and quite expensive to buy from local shops!! Very clean, fridge in kitchen, nice balcony, showers very good in the rooms as well. Really recommend Lemon Garden to eat at - cocktails really nice and great setting in the lemon/Orange garden. Also ate at seafood restaurant on the hight street with fish tanks/ shiney floor (can't think of name) but well worth a visit. Had a great few days here and it was really hot.

Just stayed a week in this resort. Rooms were lovely. Clean and spacious and ours had a lovely view being at the top of the hill. Would not recommend this if you struggle to walk or are unfit. Accommodation is spread out over a large area going up a hill. Ours was the very top of the hill. Got dropped off on the local main road so had to make way to the hotel reception up the hill, then to our room further uphill with all our luggage! We are extremely fit and struggled. Was not keen on the pool area. The pool bar was nice and done some nice snacks but it was all on a grassed area. I think pools should be around patio / concrete areas. To be honest, after the 1st day, we ended up going to the Eriva Hotel where our friends were staying. It was fantastic there. Lovely pool area, fab food, relaxing, quiet, we wished we had stayed here. We stayed in the Century resort area on the 1st day and we were sunbathing amongst several young German teenagers both male and female. Although the pool area had music on, they had a stereo system playing loud music which I think was quite ignorant. If you want to listen to your own music then use headphones! Think this resort is more for families than couples. The pool area had a children's park so was also quite noisy with screaming children - not for us. The staff were very nice and friendly and to be honest had to put up with a lot of ignorant, rude clients. Breakfast was OK. Some strange concoctions at times such as chips and 1 day there were carrots! Not sure what you would have these with though? There was lots of lovely bread that you cut yourself, using a teatowel to cover the bread before cutting a slice off so that you weren't handling it. Some of the clients however were too ignorant to use this method preferring to put their dirty hands all over the bread. There was plenty of food to choose from - boiled eggs, scrambled, fried, sausages, beans, jams, cakes, fruit, yoghurts, tea, coffee and juices. We had a fabulous week in Corfu but wouldn't stay here again.

Room Tip: We were in room 524 which was the block at the top of the hill

Stayed at Century during May half term 2014 with two children (8 and 4), in a two bed villa (as they call it).
Location is good for town, 3-4 minute walk. Villas are very close to the pool and restaurant which is really good, though to be fair the hill is not massive if you're further up. Pool and gardens are really nice, very green and lush, lots of flowers. Swallows swooping to drink from the pool, lizards and cats prowling around. No shortage of loungers or space, the garden is huge. Table tennis, volleyball and a low basketball hoop available as well as quite a decent playground containing swings, seesaw, roundabout, tunnel slide, rocking animal things.
Separate kids pool and a shallow kids area in the main pool, which is otherwise quite deep.

Accommodation was bigger than I expected. Nice twin room upstairs for the kids, ensuite downstairs. Kitchenette was OK, though we didn't use much apart from the fridge and the bottle opener. Everywhere was clean and the maid came daily apart from Sun. Patio area overlooking the pool through the palm trees was very nice, though beware mosquitoes in the evening. My one minor criticism would be that the bathrooms both needed re-tiling, made them look a bit scrappy round the edges.

Breakfasts good and plentiful, lots of choice and variety every day. Cooked breakfasts, cold meat/cheese, bread, cereals, fruit, yoghurt, cakes and biscuits.

Staff very helpful and friendly, good recommendations from the reception staff about tavernas and beaches. Reception area spacious and comfortable with slightly intermittent free wifi, open 24hrs.

Recommend:
Tavernas: Pumphouse, Skondros and Apagio all good.
7th Heaven Beach bar in Logas is amazing, on top of the cliffs
Kalamaki and Agios Georgios beaches.
Sidari waterpark hotel is good for 5EURpp, but I wouldn't pay 10pp having been there.
