Booked the resort through a discount promotion so it was cheap. Having read reviews just before leaving was prepared for a few disappointments and wasn't let down. However the good bits are:

1. Reception staff were available and helpful.
2. Apartment was spacious and generally clean even if the furniture was basic.
3. Shower was reliable (over bath but attached).
4. Location was close to bars and restaurants of Acharavi.
5. Main swimming pool was clean and the water temperature was very refreshing.
6. Local restaurants were good as regards both quality of food and value.

Unfortunately the good was demonstrably outweighed by the bad. After the first night we did not eat in the restaurant again. Not only was the food tepid and tasteless, the sight of a little boy picking up food off the floor and putting it back in the serving pan typified the attitude to hygiene. The restaurant was rammed and lack of cutlery, glasses etc was a common feature. The bar service at busy times was nonchalant at best. The gardens were overgrown and tatty. We did not sample the entertainment but from what we could see there was precious little going on. There seemed to be more Brits than any other nationality but Germans appeared to be given priority.

We were fortunate to be able to hire a car for a few days and see some of the island as well as take a day trip to Albania. We have fond memories of the holiday but I shudder to think what those recollections would have been if we had been confined to the hotel.

We as a couple went with an open mind due to the fact the deal was cheap but......you get what you pay for....well most of the time.
Could not complain about the apartment space...a one bedroom apartment with a balcony catching the sun in the morning. Quiet spot did not hear our neighbours through the walls above or below us so this was good. Apartment????..no facilities to make a cup of tea..not a cup or kettle in sight.
The grounds were lovely, plenty of space and beach area was fine with safe bathing, sunbeds and parasols.
Breakfast was definitely the best meal of the day whether you wanted cooked, continental, fruit, yoghurts...we had no complaints there. Lunch served down in the bar by the beach was very basic and like dinner in the evening appeared "ok" but was never hot and by the time the week was up enough was enough!! Salads, pasta with a little meat and/or fish was the order of each day. Hated the queues at meal times and as it's German run guess where most of the guests were from...Mmmm.
The ladies who cleaned the rooms did a great job. We had clean bed linen and towels 6 out of 7 days so no complaints there.
Would we go back?......not to this hotel but did like Acharavi and Roda down the coast so it has given us an insight to the area. Wasps and mosquitoes are a BIG problem so go forewarned.
October the worst time to go re "things going on" as the place shuts down before the end of the month including the waterpark which a lot of people go for.......whilst we were there at the beginning of the month entertainment and such like had already ceased.

Room Tip: Corner rooms appeared to get more sun. Ground floor rooms would be dark due to lack of light gettin...

Free drink which was in abundance( althoough glasses were not) earned the second of two stars.

Room Tip: stay off ground floor and away from vegetation

Just returned from a week at this hotel - thank goodness we did not book for any longer! We booked 2 apartments and the first night were put in a 2 bed, 1 bath room - not a happy bunny. Staff changed the accommodation the next day but instead of an apartment each, which was paid for in February, we shared an apartment with our friends (we had to tramps across the dining room/kitchinette to go to the bathroom - not a pretty sight!!!)
Food is always cold - no exception! It is mainly slushy mashed potato (the Smash kind but worse) and pasta dishes eg one night there was pasta, rice, cold roast potatoes, pasta with bechemel sauce and a Tuna mixture on toast. At this point I was so hacked off I went to complain only to be told that they do not have an customer satisfaction forms, feedback forms or complaint forms - in other words - they are not bothered what you think - they have your money and don't give a [--].
We were always looking for glasses to drink out of and cutlery. They ran out of ice cream - the only fruit available was grapes, watermelon and occasionally a cut up apple. On the plus side, the white wine was drinkable but guess what - you had to queue at the bar!!!!!
I have been to hotels with a 2 star rating which have done better than this. The pools were good but the gardens were not really maintained - such a shame - really is run on a shoe string budget and staff did not look very happy even though they were mostly polite

We always go with open minds if we read negative reviews, as usually find they are fine and people expect too much for what they pay. Did the same at Gelina but still very disappointed & found the place chaotic. Won't elaborate will but bullet point:

Positives -

We were allocated a room !! (I was worried after reading other reviews of being overbooked)
Room spacious in Thetis block, overlooking clean swimming pool & green hills.
Maid cleaned room daily, changed towels and bedding 4 out of 7 days.
Food was tasty but always cold.
Bus stop outside to Corfu Town, or other direction to Kassiopi harbour & beach.

Negatives -

Understaffed, it is clear the place is run on a shoe string
Full of Germans, who unfortunately cannot queue (which is needed in all inclusive environments)
A 2 - 3 star ranking would be suitable, definitely not 5 star.
Riddled with mosquitos & wasps - it is situated by salt marshlands (took 3 bottles of safari extra strength spray, still covered in bites).
Desserts in Penelope restaurant by the beach bar covered in wasps, but still saw people slicing and serving them to their children.
Alcohol very weak , cocktails rubbish
Fight to find a place to sit at breakfast & dinner, and afterwards in Captains Bar.
Would not recommend this place to anyone, regardless of what we paid. Have paid similar prices in 3 star accommodation elsewhere & service provision been much better.

Room Tip: Thetis block upstairs large & spacious balconies
