Snowcapped mountain on a glorious sunny blue sky day. Fantastic views of the countryside, farms and villages down below.

“Grand Lady in the sky”
Reviewed 21 July 2012

The site was beautiful, although a bit overcast on the day we were there. An amazingly beautiful site with lots of "red coats" snaking along and up the mountain. But, worth the climb if you can make it. Coats and portable oxygen tanks are available for a price. Everyone she take a peak if in the area as it is revered by the Tibetan people.

“A wonderful trip up the mountain.”
Reviewed 23 February 2012

We went up the first cablecar to the intermediate valley where Tibetans herders live in basic summer houses with their yaks and cattle until it gets to cold, when they retreat to the valley below. You can walk around this high valley and talk to the locals, visit their houses and pay a lot for yak butter tea! It's terrible! then we caught the second cable car to the top of Snow Mountain which is 4,500 metres. We went up in October and the autumn colours on the trees were so beautiful! It was freezing up the top with quite a lot of snow lying around but the views were wonderful, when the fog cleared temporarily. There are quite a few stairs at the top, leading to various viewing platforms. It is quite a hard climb at this altitude if you are not acclimatised. We were on Diamox tablets and they help a lot.

“A good mountain”
Reviewed 2 November 2011

Really enjoyed the view and we had a crystal clear day to visit. I am not a mountain guy but this one was surprisingly nice especially with Cable Cars to take you to the top.
