This hotel was arranged by our tour operator and we stayed there for 2 night in June 2013. The Hotel is on the main road through Shangri la and traffic can be noisy at night. Our room was basic but clean. Room had an air humidifier to keep the room moist and as the air is very thin, breathing and sleeping can be difficult particularly for people with medical conditions. However small hand held oxygen bottles can be purchased at the hotel shop and they do help with breathing. Hotel staff do not understand nor speak any English so unless you have an English speaking guide, communication is almost impossible.
A fire occurred in the dining room kitchen the first night we were there and we were not advised until the following morning when staff informed our tour guide they had arranged breakfast for us at another hotel. WiFi was available but we had difficulty in logging on and it was hard to get hotel staff to understand and assist. Breakfasts are mainly Asian but you can get fried eggs and toast. Coffee like in most Asian hotels is terrible.More
