“Wonderful local spot!”
Reviewed 1 July 2013

Very typical Tuscan menu.
Delicious food and charming atmosphere.
Loved everything we tasted, highly suggest this spot while in the Fontanelle Val di Pesa area.

“Very Disappointing - Bland Food & Poor Service”
Reviewed 28 June 2013

While this is is a very pretty restaurant, the food was bland and overpriced. Antipasti appetizer plate was miniscule....maybe 8 pieces of meat and two of cheese. We ordered beef and pork stews with chianti and italian white beans. It was not a stew... it was fatty meat in a sauce with 1/4 cup (tiny dish) of beans on the side. Bread was flavorless. Our adult children ordered ravioli (it came with 4) and chicken (3 small boneless pieces)..The service was inattentive and our server (sadly, one of the owners) was aloof and seemed to not want to be there. For well over 120 euros, you are better served to take your business elsewhere.

“You always stand a good chance of disappointment when they spend so long telling you how go the the food is before you order”
Reviewed 12 June 2013 via mobile

It started well with the first pasta with tomato and prosciutto going down very well, but then mine arrived. It takes a special chef to get under cooked, over done and well done on the same plate. A fillet steak was tough with not much taste and sausages with beans were so saltly that I think I will need to take an extra blood pressure tablet in the morning. We could not finish the sausages but when we pointed out it was inedible a quick apology was all we got, maybe so the other guests did not hear. I would normally say that they were having a bad night but I get the feeling that this is standard, so that I find it surprising that it has won a number of awards. If you want to still try it, do not say that you have not been warned.

I think that before "shoot zero" on anything you should know about the material of which you are talking about.
This, where you've come for dinner, and I remember you very well, is a real tavern where we serving e typical Tuscan cuisine, is not only the sign outside, but the menu here are found from the history of Tuscany and the Chianti and are prepared with the local products and ancient methods of cooking.
If you it is aware of this, you should know that in this area the beef when it is grilled is always blood. In addition here has found a Chianina beef sirloin (traditional cow zone), which as you know is much more tasty than ordinary cows Chevrolet or Lumousine but tends to be slightly harder.
Instead, for the sausages and beans, which I tasted, after your note on salt, or at least, what little you did go back, they were not salted, but the real taste cuts of the territory, and ours came from a small village butcher , are certainly much more flavorful than commercial that you find in the supermarket, and we use them in our dish "sausage and beans", which moreover do not even provide for the addition of salt, the only thing you was taste are the strong Chianti flavors.
Despite all this, the fact remains that you do not enjoyed your experience with us and we are very sorry. We would like everyone to be happy aftrer taste Osteria La Gramola, the only thing we can do is invite you again as our guests, hoping to be able to appreciate the effort we make to keep our historical traditions without being influenced by fashion of the moment.
Sincerely
Massimo

“Fabulous option”
Reviewed 5 June 2013 via mobile

My family just had an awesome meal at La Gramola. It is very convenient to access in the town square and they serve up delicious Italian cuisine. We had their cheese platter with freshly baked bread & tomato soup to start. Our party of 4 had the stew beef, roasted rabbit & a pasta dish which were high in flavor and decent portion sizes. Dessert options were great as well. For the size restaurant, they also had a large wine selection. This was definitely one of our best meals in our 2 week tour around Italy. Best value too!
We would definitely return.

“The place to go in quiet Tavernelle!”
Reviewed 22 May 2013

On May 1st, Labor Day, not much was open! Without a reservation, we got a table and a good meal at La Gramola. They make everything from scratch and they are pleased to say that they don't have a mircowave in the kitchen! They could have one more waiter though; 2 is not enough when you have more than 20 customers in the place!
