“Enjoyable Sunday Afternoon Destination”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 May 2012

We stumbled upon this restuant when visiting Badia a Passignano. Thought there was a scheduled wedding party they made arrangements to seat 7 in our party and provided first class service. View is exceptional and worth the trouble to find for an enjoyable meal.

“This is a cool place to sit outside and eat great food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 April 2012

When you arrive it all looks a bit "young" and "cool". You think, "this is a nice looking bar", so you sit outside in a comfortable chair with a view of the hills and the rising moon and you order a beer. Then you think, "let's get some food" so you order some mixed antipasti and other bits and pieces from the menu. And here comes the big surprise: the food isn't just "good", as you might expect from a cool bar in the Chianti hills. The food is better than "good", much better. It's some of the nicest and most unusual food I've had in Tuscany, and I've lived here a while now. Sushi is not a big thing in Italy, but the raw-fish platter was just out of this world. The presentation is superb, the service friendly, and I have trouble saying a bad word about the place. OK, the sofas are a bit slippy. But this is one of my favourite places now and I can't wait to go back when the weather's a bit warmer.

“Amazing!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 January 2012

This was one of the most memorable places we dined while in Tuscany in September!!
The background of the Tuscan hills was magical and the food and wine was out of this world!! Our tour guide recommended this stop for lunch and we will never forget it!!!

“Best restaurant ever”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 September 2011

This restaurant has come up to the top of my "Best Restaurant in the World" list. I think it is a fairly new restaurant owned by a food obsessed cook whose whole family has restaurants around this area. But the chef is a sweet Spanish girl who has the real magic touch in her fingers. I had the most amazingly giant jumbo shrimps, almost the size of a baby lobster. Their truffle ravioli and the bean ravioli is divine. They had a great service, very friendly and helpful even though the waiting staff had mediocre English. The scenery and the atmosphere of the restaurant is also lovely, overlooking the beautiful vineyard hills. The only downside of this restaurant is actually finding it but it is an absolute bliss once you get there. A visit is a must if you are in the Chianti area. We didn't mind driving 45 minutes almost every day to get there. :))

“3 visits in a year....for people who don't get out much!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 August 2011

Living just 20 minutes away we are spoiled for choice with excellent eateries. Although we don't get out that often we have eaten in most of the local restaurants and there are few that we return too on a regular basis but this has become one. It is a very cool restaurant/ wine bar that is a refreshing change from terracotta and beams. It definitely has a youngish feel to the place and is stunning and in a fantastic location. But it is not pure aesthetics, the food is outstanding. They offer a great and unusual menu with lots of fresh seafood as well as the Tuscan meats that you would expect. The menu is varied and seems to change fairly regularly and I have yet to have an average dish. Even the puddings (where I am particularly fussy) are amazing. If you are looking for something a little different, reasonably priced and perfect service then try this.
