“Average hotel, nice pool”
Reviewed 4 August 2013

Stayed here three nights in July with some friends.

Staff were friendly and all but the hotel just didn't feel like a four star hotel.
First thing to greet us outside our room was a giant spiderweb in the lights in the roof. How the housekeeping hadn't seen it is beyond me. Not the best first impression.

The rooms were surprisingly nice though. The beds were good for one night, worse the second night and horrible the third night. They were way too hard for my opinion at least.

I can't really put my finger on it, but the hotel seemed quite run-down and shady. Don't know why though.

To sum up. Not a bad hotel, but not anything what it looks like in the pictures. Average.

Problem with AC. We had 4 days without AC, and every day we were promised that it'll be fixed every morning. The pool is nice, but you are expected to bring your a towels from home, because this "four" start hotel doesn't supply them. The ELEVETOR is very small and old, and not suitable to carry people (even not in two stars hotel). The LOCATION is very bad, unless you have a car (40 Euro to each direction to Verona). There is a WIFI, but in many rooms you can't receive it. The service is very bad, they don't expect you to return….

Room Tip: There are newer rooms, but without wifi

We were before in this hotel and we were very pleased. But this time we're located in a room that overlooked the pool. Hotel allow night swimming (which is great and we use it) but the problem was other guests. It was a large group of young people who made lots of noise from the pool, they were talking and knocking loudly in hall after 1.30 am. Breakfast was great, plenty of choice, excellent pool.
Tip: be sure you're get silent room in the Blue wing

Stayed as final stop on a tour. I gather that the double rooms were well equipped but my single was like a wedge shaped corridor. The floor to ceiling window in the bathroom lacked an adequate curtain. The pool was lovely early in the morning before it filled up with local people. You would need to like very loud pop music to relax in the bar. Enough food for vegetarians at buffet.

Stayed here as close proximity to airport and part of a tour. Room, no problem, no towels, but they soon sorted that so can't complain, but food not good and surely they could have done something about the flies in the restaurant - they were in abundance and far too friendly for my liking. Staff very apathetic, probably because it's a transit hotel to the airport, so a lot different to hotel staff I had encountered at the other hotels I stayed in whilst in Italy. Sorry Antares, really hope I don't have to stay there again!

We stayed for a football tournament and had a suite which was spacious and good value but not always cleaned. The main problem was the pool bar that regularly short changed customers and were never apologetic when caught out. My purse was found in the gents loo with all money gone...lost inthe bar surprise! The staff were not sympathetic or helpfull and sent us to the wrong police station. So we wasted a morning reporting it along with another from our hotel whose mobile had been stolen. Very disappointing.....

Room Tip: The blue wing is more up to date.

Blueboy

The reason for staying in the hotel was to attend a football tournament. The Hotel has six football pitches at it's disposal. Ideal for a tournament, which I and my friends were participating. My Wife & I found ourselves upgraded to superior suite with a seperate Jucuzzi room & lounge. We found the room extremely good, with all the facilities needed. In regards to a standard room, none of my friends indicated they had any issues. Daily room service was infrequent, if you were in the room when they wanted to make the beds. That was it, you lost your chance have your bed made. We had no problem with the quality of the breakfast or dining facilities. Staff were generally helpful & polite. We didn't eat in the hotel in the evening, prefering to eat out as a group and see the sights. Swimmimg pool facilities extremely good, catering for a cross section of people. However on the Sunday the Pool is a available to the locals for a small fee and was busy but not rammed. You will definitely need to have your own transport if you are staying independantly and you would like to visit Verona itself

On downside my Wife had her purse stolen in the Poolside Bar and all the cash was taken. Surprise surprise the Bar Manager, was lucky enough to find it less the cash but the credit cards untouched. Taking this in consideration and the fact my friends and I were subject to a very high number of the attempts by the miserable and unhelpful Bar Staff to short change us. All I can say is 99% of the Staff are robbers & thieves, It is imperitive you have your wits about you when you enter this so called friendly drinking establishment, or you will be stripped up or robbed !!!

By the way we lost the footie by default, to put another downer on the weekend
