“Best hotel of the week”
Reviewed 26 May 2014

Stayed one night only on 7 cities of Italy with Newmarket Travel. Was very pleasantly surprised at the high standard of the room. Dinner was a bit bland but plenty of it. We were leaving at 3.30am
and asked for an eary morning wake up call, it never happened which is a bit disconcerting. The guy on reception was not much interested when I spoke to him.

We've stayed for a week in September 2013 with a touring group, so we only slept and had breakfast.

The good things:
The room was quiet, spacious and comfortable, a nice parquet covering the floor.
Jacuzzi in the bathroom, which we used only as a shower-bath.
Free Wi-Fi internet in the room (we stayed at the first floor).
A generous breakfast buffet for our group.
Few minutes walkink from the hotel there are a supermarket, a cheap department store and an Italian restaurant.

The bad things:
There is only one small lift at the hotel. There is no problem getting to the restaurant one floor under – only few steps, but it's a problem when the whole group wants to get to the rooms with the luggage or to check out – it took us quite a long time.
Not even one English channel on the TV – only Italian.
Some local insects on the floor at the hotel.
The air-conditioner probably pre-set to save energy, so at the first night it was not cooling enough, but it's working.
Some people from our group complained that the small refrigerator in the room is not working (we did not try it).
We left the light on at the bathroom for the night, but it had a movement sensor so it turned off after some minutes.
There was no window in the room. Opposite to the bed there was a glass wall with a door opening to a roof yard, which was common to all the rooms of the floor. So we had to leave the door locked and the curtains closed at all times. Anyway we couldn't leave the door open because insects could get in, and because it was stinking outside from the horses that the owner of the hotel keeps near the hotel.
The acoustics was bad, so we could hear the neighbors when they were talking loudly in their rooms or at the corridor.

All in all, as I said, we've been at the hotel only for sleeping, washing and eating breakfast, and all of them were good, so I was satisfied with the hotel. It is a nice hotel. There are a spa, a workout gym and a swimming pool, but we didn't use them. There is also a riding horse ranch near the hotel.

WHAT a disappointment! The only good thing about this place was the woman who checked us in. We had a/c in our room the first night, but then it began leaking water ALL over the floor. we spoke to the front desk and they just gave us the deer in the headlights look, The next night and those following found our a/c unit broke, and upon talking with other guests who were with our group, we found out it was a hotel wide issue. Instead of helping us out, it was determined that we weren't working the unit correctly. We bugged them and bugged them until the conceded and gave us a fan. The waiting staff in the restaurant were pushy and rude. The pool was fine, but ends up being overrun by the locals on the weekends, this didn't bother me as I live in Italy and my daughter speaks Italian. I get it-here's a nice pool we want to use. This was the least of my concerns. My husband accidently left his hat in our room, before we had to switch, and the housekeeping took off with it and we never got it back despite checking with housekeeping the next day and every day thereafter. It was just a very disappointing visit. Will never go back there.

Room Tip: Go somewhere else.

Stayed here three nights in July with some friends.

Staff were friendly and all but the hotel just didn't feel like a four star hotel.
First thing to greet us outside our room was a giant spiderweb in the lights in the roof. How the housekeeping hadn't seen it is beyond me. Not the best first impression.

The rooms were surprisingly nice though. The beds were good for one night, worse the second night and horrible the third night. They were way too hard for my opinion at least.

I can't really put my finger on it, but the hotel seemed quite run-down and shady. Don't know why though.

To sum up. Not a bad hotel, but not anything what it looks like in the pictures. Average.

Problem with AC. We had 4 days without AC, and every day we were promised that it'll be fixed every morning. The pool is nice, but you are expected to bring your a towels from home, because this "four" start hotel doesn't supply them. The ELEVETOR is very small and old, and not suitable to carry people (even not in two stars hotel). The LOCATION is very bad, unless you have a car (40 Euro to each direction to Verona). There is a WIFI, but in many rooms you can't receive it. The service is very bad, they don't expect you to return….

Room Tip: There are newer rooms, but without wifi

We were before in this hotel and we were very pleased. But this time we're located in a room that overlooked the pool. Hotel allow night swimming (which is great and we use it) but the problem was other guests. It was a large group of young people who made lots of noise from the pool, they were talking and knocking loudly in hall after 1.30 am. Breakfast was great, plenty of choice, excellent pool.
Tip: be sure you're get silent room in the Blue wing

Stayed as final stop on a tour. I gather that the double rooms were well equipped but my single was like a wedge shaped corridor. The floor to ceiling window in the bathroom lacked an adequate curtain. The pool was lovely early in the morning before it filled up with local people. You would need to like very loud pop music to relax in the bar. Enough food for vegetarians at buffet.
