“Wow, what won't they do for you...”

First of all let me emphasise the prices we paid were at the budget end of hotel prices. The location was perfect for the beach, shops, cash machine's, restaurants and bars. The rooms are a real surprise for the price. A bed the size of two doubles, massive lounge and a private terrace with a sea view. Also each room as a piece of exercise equipment. Which at first I thought would just depress me but it took me a day to realise what a nice touch that was. Some rooms have bikes, ours had a stomach, abs thing. If your not keen on exercise you can have it removed but if nothing else it can reduce the affect of over indulging on holiday and it makes you feel fresher and relieves some of the guilt. It also requires no motivation to actually go to a gym like most hotels that have these facilities. Then there was the cleaners, they are there until 5pm and will clean up at anytime before that if you want to lie in. Then there is breakfast; turn up at any time of the day and have as much as you want. Then there was the service, there was nothing they wouldn't do. It got to the point where I was expecting a nasty shock when I checked out but the additional charges amounted to 20 Euro's. That included, washing our clothes, sewing a button on one of my shirts, cleaning the room after 5pm once and countless little things we asked for. Towels are changed daily unless you request otherwise, there is a complimentary bowl in the bathroom with everything required including toothbrushes and toothpaste and there was more cupboard and drawer space than I have seen in any hotel in that price bracket in the UK. Furthermore in most hotels priced in all brackets above that as well. On top of all that, in season there is a free swimming pool on the roof. I would recommend this hotel strongly

Room Tip: I get the impression they are all good as we were first given a rom with twin beds. We asked to be...

My daughter and I booked and stayed here for 12 night, I booked a one bedroom apartment self catering to try and keep costs down. The kitchen area is not suitable for cooking, there is no oven, no kettle and the cutlery/cooking utensils are in another room. There was a two ring electric hob and a fridge that is all. Due to this I booked breakfast with the hotel at a cost of 5euro each per day - after the first morning I cancelled this as it is much cheaper to eat locally. The only thing you can get for breakfast is tostada with various toppings and the café at the back of the hotel offered you this with coffee and juice for just 2 euro each.
The hotel itself was ok, make sure you ask for a room with a balcony, we didn't and ended up in an apartment on the second floor overlooking the main road (plus mountains) with no where to air our wet swim things. The staff on reception were very helpful and were always ready to call a taxi for us. This part of Spain is very Spanish and very little English is spoken so be aware of this if you speak no Spanish. The bus stop was right outside the hotel and for 1e 30 you could be in the centre of Almeria in around 15minutes. The last bus back at night though is 11pm. Taxis are expensive albeit a taxi back to the airport only cost 25euro. There is a small kidney shaped pool on the roof of the hotel which accommodates approx. 9 people with about the same number of sun loungers, not great if the hotel is busy. Free wifi throughout the hotel but it did drop signal frequently. Overall the hotel was ok but I would have liked a balcony.

Room Tip: Request a room with a view.
