“Late Saturday lunch”
Reviewed 5 December 2013

Three girlfriends and I needed a late lunch (after 2.00pm) and found The Huntsman Inn. From the moment I dashed in to ask if they were still serving food I was made to feel welcome. I returned with my friends and we were shown a choice of where to sit and we plumped for the window seat in front of the log fire. The barman asked us for our drink order which he brought to the table. The food was tasty, hot and my homemade soup delicious. We were offered tea and coffee which came soon after.

I would thoroughly recommend this pub for a bite to eat as the service is so friendly and attentive.

Excellent lunch menu and very friendly service. Extremely attentive, especially to our grandson. Recommend a visit. Haven't had opportunity to try evening dinner, but I'm sure the same standards would apply.

Booked as a result of Internet search for an overnight journey stop. Local pub, very convenient for M5. Proved to be excellent choice and will stay again next time I need an overnight in this area. Rooms are well designed, clean and good value. Food is very good.

Whilst staying in the area, we decided to call on Friday afternoon 14th June 2013, the pub was quiet but very warm and welcoming. We decided to book a table for the evening in the restaurant.
I was promised a nice table for myself and my wife.

We came back at 7.30pm, well what a transformation the pub was busy, plenty of atmosphere we had the best table in the pub. To top it all the food was divine, the wine cool and fruity. The staff were very polite and welcoming. Will be calling again. Excellent

Visited the Huntsman today for a lunchtime meal. On the outside the Inn looks very pleasant and welcoming.

Entered the bar, collected some menus and choose a table near the kitchen door.

As we were sitting down, we noticed that the table was crawling with ants!!! This was in the actual restaurant and next to the kitchen. We decided not to order anything.

On speaking to the landlady on our way out, she kindly told us that the ants, "wont hurt you". Not the response i expect from a restauranteur who is displaying a 5-rating for cleanliness!

The shockingly poor attitude towards the hygiene problem means that we will definitely not attempt another visit.

Great welcome at this pub. Having served us drinks the barman gave us menus and told us if we sat down down he'd come over and take our order. The substantial meal was adequate to good pub grub. I'd go again.
