I have visited this pub on a number of occasions over the last 12 months, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. It is conveniently situated about half a mile (not 5 minutes drive as another reviewer commented) from the M5 motorway junction 14 in a quiet pretty village on the A38. It has recently started doing a breakfast menu which I have not tried.
What has let it down is the food prices and portions. I remember that there were only 3 sprouts with the xmas lunch. We decided to give it one last chance. The food itself is very nice, but you get very little portion wise for your money. The lasagne comes in a tiny side dish with a small amount (a garnish) of salad and 3 thin slices of garlic bread for just under a tenner. The curry likewise was 2 spoonfuls in a small balti dish with a popadom, small amount of rice and salad garnish at £10.45. I had lamb steak with a small amount of salad and a small ramekin of potatoes that were dry and consisted of 4 thin slices of potato. This cost over £12. The sweets are overpriced too, £4.95 for ice cream. Very disappointing. We were hungry again by the time we got home.
