Home from Club Alpina 5 days now and missing it already !!!! 1st time in Turkey and 1st time at Club Alpina so this is what i have to say ... The room was fine for our requirements bar the fact we didn't take air-con or safe as charging 70 quid for 2 weeks air-con is OTT so hence we did suffer abit at night trying to sleep and 35 quid for safe ( just kept money and valuables on me at all times ) and needless to say 14 quid for TV remote ( minus batteries) is a bit of a farce as well as TV choice is poor ( No Sky or Sports channels ) !!! Now regarding the rest of the complex ...Great bar fac ilities and great food in the restaurant and the entertainment is good all round ...Ali G , Stiffler , and Rambo ( absolute header ) excell themselves in keeping everyone amused !!! Geno in the restaurant and his staff make everyone welcome and do a 1st class job and the food is great !!! I've no qualms about returning her in the future and hopefully meet the same staff next time round !!!!

Me and my partner have not long returned from a one week stay at the club alpina. We were greeted in the early hours and a man carried our bags to our room. I had booked a superior deluxe room costing around 320 each including flights. The room was absolutely excellent, could not fault it. Modern decor and excellent bathroom. We were placed on the ground floor and it was never too noisy and it was cooler on the lower floor. Our first day by the pool every member of staff introduced themselves. Pool and slides were excellent, but someone's we had trouble finding a sun lounger so I would say to get one early! This was about the only negative of our holiday.

We are a couple who enjoy going out for food therefore didn't go for the half board option, although we very much regretted that. I was shocked to read reviews saying the food wasn't good because it was some of the best I've ever had! The onion steak and garlic chicken are dishes I would strongly reccomend! We ate there every night but one! Cocktails are great, marmaris our favourite. Alex is the most attentive member of the resteraunt team. He works so hard and I didn't see him have one day off, he provided a brilliant service and we highly commend him for his hard work!

Entertainment was really homely and they all tried really hard. They pulled my introvert partner up on stage for the drag show which was hilarious. Rambo our faviroute! Ali G and stiffler very good too. Children's entertainer very good although we don't have children we could see the children were having fun! We also had some great photos taken by hassan.

Cleaners were amazing even putting flowers in a water bottle for us on our table- lovely!

Not much in the area itself but there's a lovely bread bakery down the road! Went to marmaris once but was quite intense from a 'sales' point of view so we left quite quickly!

Fab stay at this hotel and we will definitely return in the future.

Just read some of the negative reviews on here and I am amazed at the poor ratings. We are halfway through our stay and cannot praise everything about the place any higher. The bar staff, entertainment team, cleaners are first class. In response to a couple of point i DID NOT take the half board option but have found the waiters to be very helpful and willing to do anything for guests. Also no Hotel in Marmaris to my knowledge has lifeguards but "pool attendants" a completely different thing. The food is excellent and the atmosphere great. There is a dedicated kids entertainer and she is fabulous. I am not criticising people for negativity as i know a holiday is different for everyone. I just don't want people that are already booked being unduly worried

we are just back from a two holiday at the club Alpina, i have to say that the hotel is very clean and the maids keep the rooms very tidy too, however not the same could be said about the pool area, it was very slippery and several small children had nasty falls, one in fact, smashing his toes and ripping off a toe nail, four others we know of had very bad tummy bugs after going into the pool there, there was no apparent life guard on duty and one little boy had to be rescued by an holiday maker while the staff employed by the hotel where trying to chat up the young girls, the restaurant food was very poor and there was much better food just down the road in the sincerity restaurant, however when it was found out that people was eating else were, the staff at the Alpina would come up to you and tell you to spend your money there, if you are self catering its up to you where you want to spend your money not for them to try and bully you, to be truthful we were all glad to see our coach come and pick us up

Room Tip: go for another hotel in the area

We are just back from a 2 week stay at Club Alpina. Our room was clean but basic, situated on the first floor which was rather noisy at night, the sofa beds were so uncomfortable in the standard rooms. If we returned I would definitely pay the extra for the superior room. We opted for the half board £75 per adult for 6 days, we could not fault the three course meals. You could get fillet steaks every night if you wanted and you could swap your breakfast token for lunch. Favourite waiter was Alex, speaks very good English and he worked his socks off! They are quite strict about taking your own food and drinks to the pool area unless they are purchased from the bar. The shop at the front of the hotel is open 24 hours, and if there is something you want and they dont stock it, they will get it for you. The entertainment was okay during the day, but the evening entertainment was repeated the second week.

The dolmus is only a few minutes walk down the road, for 2 lira it takes you to the harbour/shops etc. We visited "Billys" Turkish delight shop where you can taste before you buy. This is only a 5 minute walk from the apartments.

We would return to Club Alpina but would insist on a high floor and a superior room.

Room Tip: rooms on first floor are very noisy because its the main corridor where people come in from receptio...

We are just back from a 2 week stay at the Club Alpina. This was our first family holiday and we travelled as a party of 7 ( 2 rooms) 4 adults and 3 children

The hotel is spotless and the rooms are cleaned everyday which is good however my only fault with this would be if it was done at the same time everyday it would be helpful.

We arrived at half 4 in the morning and were exhausted having travelled from Glasgow to Manchester and the onwards to Turkey and we didn't get any hassle asking if we wanted anything such as air con, tv, or half board etc.

We knew there would be a charge but we had planned to not bother anyway. We looked at a number of reviews and went with the plan to head to KIPA (part of the Tesco group) on the first day and buy a desk fan. Fan cost about 35 lira and whilst at KIPA we got other bits and pieces at much more competitive rates than the hotel shop. The hotel shop is really best avoided they over charge and change prices daily depending who is working. Cigarettes are a lira more expensive than every other shop around.

BIGGEST CON we found was when the room key is taken out the room the fridge turns off how can we self cater in that sort of heat without a cold fridge? We just broke the keychain off the room key bought a cheap keychain about 1 lira somewhere and replaced it back on when we checked out.

As has been mentioned in other reviews no food or drink is to be brought to the pool area unless bought from the pool bar. This was our biggest annoyance as we thought if it was bought in the hotel shop it would be ok??? NO they sell a different brand of water in the hotel shop so that was annoying.

Hotel entertainment was ok the 1st night but very very repetitive after that I like a bit of ogi ogi ogi oi oi oi every now and again however every single night was ridiculous. The kids mini disco is only half hour and is not what we were expecting it is more like a nursery song and dance routine. Our boys are 8 and 6 and they said it was for babies, they were expecting gangnam style etc so not worth going if it just for the kids enjoyment.

I didn't catch everyone of the staff member names I liked the guy Mehmet (I think) he greets you at poolside on the first day to try to see if you want the in house Turkish bath or a shave etc he seemed nice and not too pushy.

Only really spoke to Rambo as he came and introduced himself one of the night we were at the entertainment. He seemed genuine and spoke to us for about 10 mins or so

GINO didn't like him and didn't even speak to him. He walks about like he own the place and only seems to talk to women who seem interested in him. Also on the first night he was jumping up on tables pulling his zip down on his trousers etc which considering there are many children there I didn't find it appropriate.

The childrens pool is quite good and the big pool is alight but the slides are only open 3 hrs per day and as my boys are non swimmers they could not go down with a water ring on which ruined it a bit for us. Also pool closes at 6pm which felt a little bit early

We didn't eat at the hotel as we wanted to try loads of places as there is so many to choose from and only 2 minutes walk down the road. We did get ice cream and chips during the day which were always nice.

We ate at

UNCLE SAMS (alex is really nice genuine guy no frills or gimmicks just well cooked simple food, we came here 4 times as we found it relaxing and friendly)

SINCERITY - great steaks and everything but leave this place to one of the last night as they really try to rope you in to half board option

J & J's STEAKHOUSE - bit more lively and more up to date music and we quite liked the guys only downside was a birds nest right above or table and there was a mother bird flying in and out our whole meal feeding her chicks ( my wife is scared of birds)

RED ROSE - really nice food here as well

AMADEUS - ate here once and planned on going again however I got a set meal and was sat waiting for my dessert to be brought to me with my empty drink glass sitting beside my for about 15 mins before I decided to ask for the bill and just forget it.

NEW YORK BAR AND GRILL - excellent set meal and cocktails

Overall we loved our holiday and have already booked back for June next year and we would stay at the Alpina again but only if it was the cheapest available.

Here is a guide price for the drinks at the pool

Soft drinks 5 lira
Bottle of water 1.5 lira
Vodka and coke 10 lira or 2 for 15 lira
Slush puppy 5 lira

Also scooped ice cream 3 lira ( VERY NICE)
and chips 7 lira

Room Tip: We stayed in the rooms facing the other hotel next door which was good as there is a big tree which...
