“good hotel, great staff, you get what you pay for !!!!”
Reviewed 28 August 2013

Just stayed for 1 week after staying for a week last year. To be brutally honest, if you are expecting a four star modern hotel in Turkey, then this aint it ! People need to remember that you generally drop a star rating for turkish hotels. Staff at the Epic are very friendly, but the place wouldn't be the same if Elvis were to leave!!! he is the main man!!!! Rooms are fine for what you need them for, shower, fridge, tv etc....,but be aware that they now charge 30 pounds for one weeks air con, which is a bit cheeky!!! Entertainment is not the best but at least they do try. Food was ok but nothing special, mainly a meat or fish dish at night and a continental style breakfast in the restaurant. I would however recommend the cooked breakfast at the pool bar - which is only 6 lira and is excellent!!!!! Straight across the road of the hotel is the UMUT bar/restaurant which is a great place to eat drink snd wstch football!!!! If you go to the UMUT talk to Omar/Jacob and he will sort you out - top bloke!!!! Overall i would rate the Epic a seven out of ten, this is after many stays in Marmsris snd Icmeler, but unfortunately we probably won't return to the Epic.

Got back Sat morning from our first holiday in Turkey, stayed at Epic Hotel which was lovely, maid service was good ,all the staff were very friendly and attentive no matter what time of day it was,the room was clean, but I must say the couch bed's in the one bedroom apartments were very uncomfortable to sleep on ,but for 2 weeks I suppose you can suffer it, will definetley be back

Room Tip: the rooms with a pool view are lovely and very quiet at night for sleeping ,as the music in the bars...

Just back from yet another fab holiday at the Epic hotel. The hotel has improved the choice of food for breakfast and tea this year and I must admit it was a big improvement. More choices at tea time made sure that even the fussiest of eaters could find something to eat. The choice on the salad bar was great with cold chicken and tuna dishes nightly. People must remember they are in Turkey, so you will be given the choice of Turkish dishes.
All the staff work very hard to make sure holiday makers enjoy their stay. The only staff member who is not up to standard is Mehmet. He is rude and abrupt with English guests and enjoys shouting at the younger members of staff.
Thank you Epic for another great stay.

Not long got back from two weeks at the Epic hotel after a very enjoyable and relaxing holiday. The hotel lived up to our expectations after reading tripadvisor and guidance from the brochure. Rooms were fairly basic but kept clean and tidy, and the maids were welcoming and happy to listen to requests. Most of the staff were very pleasant and happy to help. Although we skipped breakfast several times, we found that breakfast and evening meal offered enough choice for both me and my girlfriend. We also met up with my family while over there who also found there was plenty of choice to eat (with two younger children). As mentioned beforehand, evening meal doesn't come with a drink. We have found this to be the case across many half boards we have visited before and so therefore were not surprised or particularly disappointed. Some of the staff do also come around during the day checking to make sure you are not drinking your own drink. Easiest solution is simply to hide your bottles and take a drink when no-one is looking. As per usual during the busier days sun-beds were taken early. We took it in turns to get up around 6.30 to get a sun-bed and had several chats with people down there who had also got up nice and early.

The entertainment around the pool was well run by Katie and Selem and they also returned during some nights for karaoke. We recommend exploring Marmaris as the Epic is well located by several bars/restaurants as well as a 15minute walk to the beach and 5/10 minute dolmus ride to the main harbour. Eating at a nearby restaurant will cost around £6 per person for a 5course meal.

A big thanks to the younger members of staff who work all day and night and always have a smile on their face. Especially around 4pm when they have a short break which involves pushing them into the pool and vice versa. We were sad to say goodbye.

We met some fantastic people at the Epic who we have met up with since returning back to the UK and some of the party will be returning next year. Alongside the staff, they all made for a fantastic holiday which resulted in severe holiday blues on our return.

Room Tip: Try for a pool view

We arrived on the 9th August 2013. We booked a attic room as Thomas cook told us that they would be spacious but when we got to the room it was not with a slopping roof and a very tiny window and a smaller than usual door and after asking to be moved the reception staff & the reservation manager said that we could change room on the Tuesday @ 10am the only thing was we had a boat trip booked with a 9 am pick up so we had to wait till Wednesday the 1st room 103 we was given i didn't like as it smelt damp and wallpaper coming off wall in the bedroom after asking if we could be moved again it was not a problem the reservation manager moved us to to room 207 which was lovely and couldn't fault the room or the staff. The breakfast is what you would expect from turkish hotel and dinner had a variety of food to choose from. Entertainment and bar staff couldn't be faulted as they were excellent and worked very hard. Pool area was also clean overall after reading reviews I thought this hotel was very good as I was comparing the epic to the Julian next door and I would rather stay at the epic hotel and are thinking of booking again 2014. I must warn you all don't book any excursions with the Thomas cook rep they will rip you off please go over to ago travel and see Andy for really good prices I've been booking with Andy for a few years now and I now class him as a mate. When you book your trips please mention that you've seen the review from peter from charlton you won't be disappointed with there prices either see Andy, batman or adem they are all decent blokes and will give you the very best prices.
